Last week, I had the privilege of presenting my master's research on surrogate modeling a thermal risk tool used in conceptual aircraft design at the AIAA ÉTS Regional Student Conference in Montréal. I'm also delighted to share that the corresponding paper will be published and accessible on Aerospace Research Central this June. The conference was an eye-opening experience, showcasing the rapid advancements across multiple aerospace streams, all driven by industrial needs. Inspired by this research direction, my work focuses on improving the computational efficiency of analytical tools, addressing the industry's demand for faster, more reliable design solutions to accelerate innovation. There is still important work ahead to encourage strong coupling between research and industry, and I'm excited to witness and contribute to it. I’m deeply grateful for the guidance of my supervisor, Professor Michael Kokkolaras, the support of the Systems Optimization Lab at McGill University, and the invaluable insights made possible by the rich expertise and extensive knowledge of Ali Tfaily at Bombardier Aerospace. Thrilled to keep learning, exploring new frontiers, and uncovering what’s yet to come!

Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the AIAA Region I Student Conference at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) in Montreal, where I also had the privilege of presenting our research paper—soon to be published with AIAA! Our paper, “Airfoil Design & Analysis Using Conformal Transformations,” explores the use of Joukowski and Karman-Trefftz transformations combined with potential flow theory to design and analyze airfoils. It was an amazing experience to share our work, learn from fellow researchers, and connect with professionals and like-minded students from across North America. A heartfelt thank you to our brilliant co-authors — Jadon Jackman, Mahmoud Ismail, Sarina Sohaili Yekta, Aidan Talisic, Saran Rathakrishnan, Conrad Sobczak, and Jason Clarke. Your dedication and collaboration made this achievement possible. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Seyed M. Hashemi, for inspiring us to launch our student branch and believing in our potential, to Aaron Benatar for always being there with support and thoughtful advice, and to Dr. Goetz Bramesfeld for sharing his expertise so generously and helping us grow every step of the way. This experience has not only deepened my passion for aerospace engineering, but also reminded me of the power of teamwork, mentorship, and academic curiosity. I’m excited for what lies ahead and look forward to continuing to grow as a student and researcher.
