Yesterday, I had the privilege of presenting AdFarm's Farm Voice Study about farmer and rancher perspectives on Artificial Intelligence at Ag-Tech Days, organized by University of Calgary and Innovate Calgary. With limited on-farm insights currently available on this emerging technology, our goal was to provide a timely and credible snapshot of producer views on AI to an audience of ag-tech companies, investors and academics. Here are 4 key takeaways from the presentation: 1️⃣ AI users believe in the value. Farmers already using AI see its potential and plan to expand their use in the next year. 2️⃣ Perceptions are positive, but challenges remain. While sentiments around AI are optimistic, hurdles like costs, complexity, support gaps, and security concerns must be addressed. 3️⃣ Education and support is needed. Producers want clear guidance and tools to help them understand how AI can work for their operations. 4️⃣ Trust and Value are key. The top concerns of farmers are around being able to trust the technology, the company’s integrity and the advertised benefits. Building relationships, establishing trust and delivering value will remain critical. AI in agriculture is an exciting frontier, but success lies in listening to producers and supporting them in this journey. Kudos to AdFarm's brilliant AgIntel team for leading this research! Matt Weeks Ally Bosch Alison Rasmussen Overall, a wonderful morning of insightful presentations and networking!
