The #Proba3 mission is making incredible progress! 🌟 The twin satellites recently hit a milestone: they autonomously did their first formation flying orbit! 🛰🛰 We are very proud to have our Operations Team work together with the European Space Agency - ESA and Sener Aerospace & Defence in the mission control room to make this a reality. 📰 NEWS: Redwire has been awarded a new NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration contract to expand and launch 4 more of our innovative PIL-BOX's to The International Space Station. 💫 With 28 units flown and processed to date, we continue to make strides in pharmaceutical manufacturing operations in space, and look forward to working with NASA on informing pharmaceutical manufacturing operations on future commercial space stations in low Earth orbit (LEO). “NASA has been an instrumental partner and customer as we’ve scaled our pharmaceutical drug manufacturing program significantly over the last year,” said John Vellinger, Redwire’s President of In-Space Industries. “Additional PIL-BOX investigations from NASA and commercial partners will enable Redwire to optimize the infrastructure to launch, test, manufacture, and return high-value space enabled pharmaceutical products and establish a new market in LEO” Read for more! https://lnkd.in/e_6m6DNF

European Space Agency - ESA's Hera has successfully completed its gravity-assist flyby of Mars, using the planet’s gravity to adjust its trajectory toward the Didymos binary asteroid system. This maneuver shortens its journey by months and saves substantial fuel, bringing it one step closer to its planetary defense mission. 🔍 Redwire’s Role: Our onboard computer (OBC) is at the heart of Hera’s operations—acquiring and processing images, controlling orbit maneuvers, managing payloads, and ensuring seamless communication with Earth’s deep space network. With this milestone achieved, Hera is now on its way to Didymos, and Redwire is proud to support this mission.
