☀️ A sunny Brussels morning to discuss bright future possibilities!   With quantum still emerging in the minds of many policymakers and industry leaders, now is a pivotal, exciting moment. Quantum Delta NL is a key frontrunner, bringing the top names in Brussels together this morning for the first key dialogue on making the most of this emerging, game-changing tech.   🗝️ Highlights from the morning:   🎤 Keynote by Dusan Chrenek (EU Environment and Climate) The European Commission's Principal Adviser on Digital for the Green Transition highlighted the potential of Destination Earth and digital twins to revolutionise climate modelling. Quantum computing could supercharge these tools, enabling better predictions, better adaptation, and better decisions.   His call to action: "The digital transition is a generation-defining opportunity. Tech companies are vital partners — we must rise to the challenge together."   🧠 Panel 1: Making Quantum for Energy a reality at EU Level Pascal Maillot (EU Digital & Tech), Nikolaos Kontinakis (EU Energy) Luis Vale Cunha(E-REDES, E.DSO, European Technology and Innovation Platform on Smart Networks for Energy Transition), a deep dive into the policy landscape: 🔹 Grid congestion, big data overload, and fragmented standards are real roadblocks. 🔹 Quantum isn’t a magic bullet — it's still early — but with an organised community, standards, and strategic implementation, it can be a game-changer. 🔹 "Innovation without implementation is useless." - there is plenty of funding for research, but bringing solutions remains a challenge.   🔥 Fireside Chat on Standardisation Axel Ferrazzini (GovStrat) reminded us: "Standardisation only works if it's global." A call to coordinate across Europe and beyond — because Europe has the assets to lead. But 'if we are not fast enough, others will do it'. We should not lose our key advantage on such sensitive technologies.   💸 Panel 2: Financing the Quantum Leap Hicham Najem (EIT Digital), Désirée Rückert (European Investment Bank (EIB)), and Thomas Garabetian (SolarPower Europe) agreed: 🔹 We have promising start-ups — but need to bridge the gap between research and market. 🔹 Standardisation and early adopters are key to unlocking private finance. 🔹 We need the big industrial players to start using European quantum tech. Adoption now means loyalty later. 🔹Industry needs a sign from policymakers to launch. Like many in Brussels, we keep a keen eye on quantum tech developments. Quantum computing could solve complex problems that today's supercomputers would take years to answer. It's likely to be some time before we see quantum computers on the market, but quantum sensors and networks built on quantum communications technology could be just around the corner. The possibilities - from sustainable energy to defence, mobility to space, could be huge.   The Commission's Quantum Strategy is expected in May and should reveal much more about how the EU wants to take full advantage of the opportunities. While we wait for that, this event is definitely worth registering for!

🚗 On 5 March, after weeks of high-level dialogue meetings with industry and civil society, the European Commission published its highly anticipated Industrial Action Plan for the #Automotive Sector. The Communication lays out measures to help the European auto industry maintain its competitiveness as it undergoes profound transformations in the transition towards zero-emission vehicles and connected and automated driving —areas where European companies have faced increasing competition from global players. 🚦 The document is divided into sections covering innovation and #digitalisation, clean mobility, competitiveness and supply chain resilience, skills and social dimension, boosting market access, and guaranteeing economic security. Our mobility experts highlighted four of the most important measures that were announced as a part of the Action Plan: 🔺 Car makers will gain flexibility in complying with the 2025 #CO2 targets. This was a key demand of the auto sector, which risked hefty fines for missing the targets, but NGOs and the e-mobility industry have been critical, saying it undermines the transition to EVs. 🔺The Commission will introduce measures to speed up the rollout of fully autonomous vehicles by harmonising testing rules and enabling unlimited type approval for deployment. 🔺 The Commission's 'Battery Booster' package aims to support the EU #battery industry with funds, production support, and local content requirements. 🔺 In 2025, the EC will launch an alliance for connected and autonomous vehicles, focusing on cybersecurity and data accessibility to drive innovation. Collaboration with the G7 will help address cybersecurity risks and establish a shared understanding of mitigation strategies. And what better place for us to keep up ahead with our expertise and knowledge of the sector than the Mobile World Congress, which gathers every year the global community of all stakeholders involved in the mobile, tech and communication industries in Barcelona. logos’ Public Affairs Director Marie-Myrtille Marichal shares her experience. ✨Picture a vibrant, buzzing tech hive with thousands of exhibitors, journalists, participants, and passionate experts, all swamped by multicoloured, animated stands and screens pulsing with live music. Imagine endless square meters of stands competing to get your attention and time with information desks, demos, interactive experiences and tutorials (Make sure you have comfortable shoes). And it's not just about the commercial focus. There's a sprinkle of political and regulatory discussions between industry and policymakers on the sector's future. To be in the secret of the gods (the Ministerial Program), you'll need the VIP pass. 🔍 We couldn't help but notice: 🔹#AI and its many applications were the leading actors. New cutting-edge innovations like quantum-based applications were more difficult to find (too soon?). 🔹The impressive presence and strength of the Asian players, one of them having built an entire village of booths to showcase its services, applications, and technologies. Among global players, the fair share (sic) of European players and national booths supporting their key and most forward-looking innovators. 🔹Political and press delegations on guided tours, like VP Virkkunen visiting and closely listening to all #quantum projects showcased in the Quantum Flagship stand. 🔹The repetitive daily flow of attendees: speedy and attentive in the morning and the afternoon, slow or even seated around food stands all over the place at lunchtime and happily scattered in the main booths after 5 for "private drinks." 🔹The OFF scene, with the many side events, cocktail receptions and working dinners organised in the evenings in the city centre. 💬 What are your thoughts on the future of tech and digital in the #EU?
