IHE Catalyst is honored to announce the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with CIES, e-Health Innovation Center of Morocco. 🇲🇦 🌍 This partnership marks a major milestone in the continent’s digital health journey: the creation of Africa’s first Healthcare Interoperability Laboratory, based in Morocco. The lab will be built on international standards to enable seamless health information exchange and interoperability across systems. In parallel, a similar agreement has been signed with #HIMSS to implement the EMRAM™ maturity model—a recognized framework to assess and elevate the digital capabilities of hospitals throughout Morocco. This initiative will directly contribute to improved patient safety and care quality. Together, these collaborations position 🇲🇦 Morocco as a leading force in digital health across Africa, driving innovation, building local capacity, and aligning healthcare infrastructure with global standards of excellence. 🚀 Today marks a historic milestone for European healthcare! I had the privilege of participating - on behalf of IHE-Europe - in the high-level event celebrating the formal adoption and entry into force of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) Regulation. TRUST, COLLABORATION, SECURITY, INVESTMENTS - these were among the most frequently mentioned enablers for the successful implementation of the EHDS. Organised under the auspices of the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union, this event brought together key leaders from the European Commission, Member States and stakeholder organisations. The EHDS is not just another regulation—it’s a game changer. It lays the foundation for a secure and trusted environment for accessing and sharing health data across the EU, with the potential to: ✅ Empower citizens with control over their health data ✅ Foster innovation ✅ Create a single market for digital health services and products ✅ Boost Europe's competitiveness on the global stage It is exciting to be part of this journey as we work together towards making interoperable, trusted, and patient-centered digital health a reality. #EHDS #DigitalHealth #Interoperability #IHEEurope #Innovation #Healthcare #DataSpace #EUHealthUnion
