  • 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, 𝗩𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝘃𝗲𝗿   In collaboration with FirstLight Energy Solutions, Hysopt supported the optimisation of HVAC systems across three high-rise buildings in downtown Vancouver: Granville, Burrard, and Howe. Granville had recently installed Heat Recovery Chillers (HRCs), which reduced steam usage by 50%. But winter conditions limited their full potential due to insufficient cooling demand.   Using our Digital Twin technology, we explored innovative ways to maximise HRC efficiency: ▪️Repurposing a decommissioned 𝟰𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬-𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 (𝗧𝗘𝗦) 𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗸 ▪️𝗥𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 from the nearby Burrard building ▪️Evaluating additional capacity from the Howe building   𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀: ✅ Up to 81% reduction in steam use ✅ Annual operational savings of up to $136,000 ✅ Up to 80% drop in carbon emissions (potential around 520 tonnes CO₂/year)   𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: https://lnkd.in/eeJSzZx4   #HVAC #CarbonReduction #Sustainability #CaseStudy

  • Ready for the next session in our webinar series? This month’s topic: 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 🔁 Changeover systems are designed to use the same thermal end units or hydraulic network for both heating and cooling. Sounds simple - but in reality, it brings a lot of 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 that can impact performance and efficiency. In our next webinar, we’ll guide you through the 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 to make changeover systems work as intended. 📅 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟭𝟳𝘁𝗵 (English and Dutch) 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟰𝘁𝗵 (French) 👉 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀? CEO, founder at Hysopt | Optimisation of Costs, Carbon and Comfort in HVAC and Heat Networks

𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 - 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻.   Using the same end units or even the same hydraulic network for both heating and cooling makes a lot of sense from an investment point of view. But it also introduces a whole new layer of complexity when it comes to hydraulic design and control.   At Hysopt, we’re seeing more and more engineers and consultants exploring this approach, and asking the right questions.   That’s why, as part of our monthly webinar series, we’re hosting a dedicated session on the topic. On 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟭𝟳𝘁𝗵, one of our HVAC experts will share best practices and insights on:   🔹 Why changeover systems 🔹 Different configurations 🔹 2-pipe vs. 4-pipe systems 🔹 Pipe and pump sizing 🔹 Dynamic balancing 🔹 Controls   This webinar will be hosted 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵, 𝗗𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵. At the end, we’ll wrap up with a live Q&A, so bring your questions!   👉 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄: https://lnkd.in/eWEbjcMG

  • 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿? In our latest session, we looked beyond simple pump replacement and uncovered how to achieve up to 𝟵𝟱% 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 by looking beyond the pump itself. From control strategies and valve selection to pump (de)centralisation - we shared all the best practices to help you in your HVAC engineering process. 🎥 The on-demand version is now available: https://lnkd.in/eRyjBpjp 👉 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹: we’ll dive into the complexity of 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀, where the same end units - or even the same hydraulic network - handle both heating and cooling. A smart investment, but one that comes with significant design challenges. 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄: https://lnkd.in/erxpM4aM #Webinar #PumpEnergy #ChangeoverSystems

🔎 One project which received HNES funding for an optimisation study is One Friargate in Coventry. Hysopt who conducted the study provided two key recommendations: 1. Adaptation of Valves: Replace all three-way valves at the absorption chillers and DHW calorifiers with two-way valves. 2. BEMS Control Implementation: Introduce new Building Energy Management System (BEMS) control over the low loss headers to minimise overflow and precisely control flow temperatures. #duurzaamheid #hvac #warmtepomp #studentenkoten #hysopt #energiebewust #bouwproject #installatietechniek
