Piotr Kus, ENTSOG, joined the BBSPA Oil and Gas Conference in Vienna. ENTSOG’s participation facilitated exchanges on the current gas market status for EU #TSOs, security of supply, and the repurposing of existing infrastructure for both #H2 and #CO2. The event also provided a timely opportunity to present key points from the latest assessment in ENTSOG’s Summer Supply Outlook 2025 and Review of Summer Supply 2024 report 👉 https://bit.ly/3Q1KYJO

Facilitating cooperation between national gas Transmission System Operators to achieve European Union energy goals
About us
The role of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG) is to facilitate and enhance cooperation between national gas transmission system operators (TSOs) across Europe, to ensure the development of a pan-European transmission system in line with European Union energy goals. ENTSOG’s tasks are mainly defined in Regulation (EC) No 715 / 2009. This includes developing network codes for market and system operation, elaborating the Ten-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP), providing regular information on gas supply and demand for the European market and delivering common operational tools to ensure network security and reliability. ENTSOG work is continuing to evolve: from designing the secondary legislation and fulfilment of conferred regulatory tasks, monitoring the effects of the agreed outcomes through to responding to future challenges and building on achieved results. While its focus remains on monitoring Network Code implementation, ENTSOG future activities will also include assessing the progress of the functionality of the European gas markets and looking at longer term horizons for European Scenarios.

Always a pleasure to host the New Energy Business School 💡 See you in October!
🟡 | 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲: 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆, 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 This week, we travelled to Brussels to explore Europe’s evolving energy landscape. With in-depth lectures from experts Manfred Hafner, Earl Goetheer, and Ruud de Bruijne, participants gained valuable insights into the strategic, technological and policy dimensions of the energy transition. A special thanks to our host ENTSOG for the warm welcome and support throughout the week! No visit to Brussels would be complete without a stop at the European Parliament, where we connected the course content to the heart of European energy policymaking. Today, we conclude with an interactive session on the Energy Transition Model, led by Alexander Wirtz, followed by presentations of the case studies which developed and delivered by the true drivers of this programme: our participants. 👏 A big thank you to: Krijn Wermenbol, Nina Van Vredendaal, Mirthe Oostland, Lieke de Weijs, Dagmar Goos, Thiadmar van der Wal, Leon Hovenkamp, Savannah ter Horst, Sil Mossel, Erika Homoki-Szabo, Jan Mazač and Richard Kuipers. 📢 ENTSOG published the Summer Supply Outlook 2025 and Review of Summer Supply 2024! Like the previous edition, the Summer Supply Outlook report is supplemented with an overview of Winter 2025/26. The ENTSOG Summer Supply Outlook assesses #injection levels and the possible evolution of #demand, #supply, and #exports from 1 April to 30 September 2025. To complement the latter, @ENTSOG also undertook a review of Summer 2024. The assessment shows that 💡 📌 #EU gas stock levels were at 34%, lower compared to the last two years due to extensive use of storage facilities during previous winters but closer to average winter; 📌 To replenish gas #storage in preparation for the upcoming winter, the EU will require a higher volume of #LNG compared to previous summers; 📌 It is essential to start gas storage replenishment as early as possible. Any unplanned maintenance could potentially put additional pressure on the refilling season; 📌 Existing EU gas #infrastructure and new LNG terminals are increasing; import capacity and #flexibility, enhancing LNG inflows, cooperation among Member States, and EU energy #security. The Summer Supply Outlook 2025 & Summer Supply Review 2024 reports are available 📍 https://bit.ly/3Q1KYJO Read our 🗞️ https://bit.ly/42rpqfm

Repurposing is technically feasible, safe and cost-effective 💡 When #repurposing, infrastructure operators should guarantee 👇 📌 #Safety - a non-negotiable key requirement. Standards and procedures are already factoring this principle; 📌 #Resilience of the natural gas network - as required by the Regulation on Security of Supply. #SoS of all molecules should be ensured at all times; 📌 Look at impacts for both natural gas and #H2/#CO2 on: 📍Market liquidity and competition; 📍Diversification of sources and routes; 📍Efficient use of existing infrastructure; 📍Promotion of renewable and low carbon gases. 👉 The 8th #EuropeanHydrogenForum took place yesterday, organised by European Commission Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) and co-hosted by European Parliament Industry, Research, and Energy (ITRE) Committee. 🤝 ENTSOG General Director Piotr Kus Kuś joined other panelists, to discuss important considerations for the upcoming #IndustrialDecarbonisationAcceleratorAct, in the context of the #CleanIndustrialDeal. “ENTSOG, as facilitating organisation for the Transmission and Distribution Roundtable of the #EuropeanCleanHydrogenAlliance, welcomes practical implementation tools needed for industry to streamline and simplify infrastructure development for hydrogen. Repurposing existing gas infrastructure for renewable and low carbon molecules, including hydrogen, is a cost-effective way to meet the goals of competitiveness and decarbonisation.” #CleanIndustrialDeal #EuropeanCleanHydrogenAlliance
