📍At Enabel, gender and diversity are not buzzwords — but a commitment in motion. While some are giving up on diversity and inclusion efforts, we continue to move forward — intentionally and boldly. This week in Brussels, we hosted a new group of colleagues from both our partner countries and Brussels for an intensive Gender, Diversity & Inclusion "train-the-trainer" programme, co-facilitated with JUMP, Solutions for Equity at Work . This was the second wave of our initiative, following a first session earlier this year. 🎯 The goal? To empower expert pairs, combining technical know-how and leadership sponsorship, to become real drivers of inclusion. Each duo is committed to advancing the Diversity, Gender and Inclusion agenda in their country or region - training others in turn, embedding these values at the highest level, and ensuring that inclusion moves from intention to impact. Together, they’re taking up the challenge of embedding gender and inclusion into everything we do. At Enabel, equality and inclusion aren’t optional. They’re at the core of our strategy and values. 💡 Quand le numérique renforce le système de santé au Niger. À travers le projet PASS Sutura, soutenu par Enabel, les Pays-Bas et le Ministère de la Santé Publique, la santé au Niger entre dans une nouvelle ère. Grâce à la digitalisation et à une meilleure maintenance des équipements, des résultats concrets ont été obtenus dans les hôpitaux de Gaya et Gothèye: 🖥️ Implantation du Système d’Information Hospitalier (SIH) dans les hôpitaux de district : gestion en temps réel des données médicales des patient·es 📲 Formation en ligne des professionnel·les de santé via une plateforme d’e-learning dédiée ⚙️ Grâce à la GMAO (Gestion de la Maintenance Assistée par Ordinateur) : plus de 2 500 interventions de maintenance préventive sur des équipements médicaux réalisées en 2024, assurant un meilleur fonctionnement des centres de santé 🔧 📍 Une santé publique plus connectée, plus performante, plus accessible pour toutes et tous. #EnablingChange #ActForImpact #Digitalisation #eSanté

🚀 This week, 23 innovations supported by Enabel Innovation Hub embarked on a 5-day journey to Kampala to exchange on their scaling pathways. It was the very first time these projects came together - a valuable opportunity to share the challenges they face, envision their future, meet inspiring Ugandan innovators such as Zetu Africa, AirQo, and Ecoplastile and embark on a learning journey with Enabel Innovation Hub team and Brink. During the week, the 46 participants explored the scaling framework with The Innovation Village Hub at Motiv and took part in an insightful session on the Scaling Readiness Tool, led by Marc Schut from CGIAR. 🙏 A big thank you to the Enabel team in Uganda for hosting us and to the Belgian embassy in Kampala, Uganda and Ambassador Hugues Chantry for their valued support and presence. A truly inspiring week - not only for the participants but also for the Enabel Innovation Hub team. 🤝 Stronger together, from Warsaw to the world. This week, Jean Van Wetter and our colleague Vladyslava Litiaga, were in Warsaw, proudly representing the Practitioners' Network for European Development Cooperation at the EU Directors General for International Cooperation meeting - under the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union. 🎯 Their mission? To amplify the collective voice of our network of 25 European development organisations. 🏫 We were deeply honoured to welcome Belgium’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxime Prévot, this week at Baryshivskyi Lyceum in the Kyiv region - one of the schools where Enabel is supporting the construction of a bomb shelter under Belgium’s BE-Relieve programme. To safeguard the right to education in the face of Russian aggression, Enabel is building and rehabilitating seven shelters, offering protection to over 3,000 students and teachers and enabling the continuation of in-person learning. 👩🏫👨🎓 In Baryshivka, Minister Prévot was accompanied by Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, and Mykola Kalashnyk, Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration. 📢 Wrapping up an inspiring 10-day study tour: the Ukrainian delegation from the Kyiv region has completed its visit to Belgium — but this is only the beginning of deeper collaboration on vocational education and employment reform. Organised under the BE-Relieve programme, the visit focused on strengthening VET system in the context of Ukraine’s recovery and EU accession. Throughout the week, the delegates explored Belgium’s approach to skills development through: ✔️ Field visits to centres of excellence in construction and energy sectors ✔️ Exchanges with public services, universities, and regional employment agencies ✔️ Strategic workshops at Enabel’s Brussels office 💬 “We learned about Belgium's approach to on-the-job training and the strategic use of market mechanisms to promote graduate employment,” shared Nataliya Atamanenko from Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. “These learnings will help shape targeted solutions for our national priorities.” 🔍 Delegates were especially impressed by the way Belgium’s Centres of Vocational Excellence align training with real industry needs — a model with strong potential for Ukraine.
