Last week, E-Mobility Europe joined our partner associations of the Electrification Alliance for a meeting with Stéphane Séjourné, Executive Vice-President for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy 🇪🇺 As part of the #CleanIndustrialDeal, the Affordable Energy Action Plan was previously launched, marking a new chapter of affordable energy for both citizens and businesses 💡 This is a topic that we at the Electrification Alliance have been strongly advocating for. In fact, the alliance sent a letter to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, along with Executive Vice-Presidents Teresa Ribera and Stéphane Séjourné, and Commissioner Dan Jørgensen. Here, we called for ✅ the promotion of market-based efficiency and innovation mechanisms ✅ the de-risking of investments in order to attract electrification capital ✅ the ensuring of fair taxation for a level playing field ✅ the ensuring of a swift implementation of the revised Electricity Market Design ✅ the provision of state aid that prioritises electrification Read the full joint letter here 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eUjM766F The Electrification Alliance supports an electrification KPI at 32% by 2030 - a goal that calls for bold action and major investments in energy-intensive industries. Let’s make a reality! ⚡

This week, the e-mobility ecosystem was inspired by the pioneering strides made in Norway at the Nordic EV Summit! 🚘 🇳🇴 Being close to 100% zero emission vehicle sales, the message is clear: with the right impulses, incentives, and ideas, a strong EV uptake can become a reality on European roads! 💯 Consistent policies and a clear political direction are key to electric success, let’s not delay the EV revolution any further! 🔑 A big thank you to organisers Norsk elbilforening (Norwegian EV Association) and Christina Bu for an excellent event that has motivated many to be part of the positive transport change 👏

As #emobility continues to grow, so does the need for robust fire safety measures in covered parking lots equipped with EV charging infrastructure. 🔌 🛟 Led by E-Mobility Europe, the European Commission Sustainable Transport Forum (STF) has recently published guidance on the fire safety for #EVs parked and charging infrastructure in covered parking spaces. 🅿️ This evidence-based guidance will help shape the upcoming European Commission fire safety guidelines for car parks, set to be released by the end of this year under Article 14 of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). 🏢 Covering technical, organisational, structural, and preventive fire safety measures, as well as key policy recommendations, this guidance from STF is an essential resource for public authorities, parking operators, designers, risk assessors, fire service organisations, and car manufacturers. It plays a key role in creating a safer and more resilient e-mobility infrastructure! 🚘 📖 Read the full guideline here: https://lnkd.in/eaasZHEY

📣 Today the European Commission confirmed its amendment to the 2025 CO2 limit for cars and vans, which would now be achievable over the next three years. 🚘 We regret this weakening, which comes after a really positive January and February where European electric car sales have already increased 28% year-on-year. 📈 Growth prospects are still healthy for the rest of 2025, but independent experts have estimated that around 100,000 fewer electric cars will be sold in 2025 as a result of today’s flexibilities, impacting on the wider e-mobility ecosystem. 🔌 🔋 Now we’re calling on the European Parliament and Council to approve the amendment swiftly and without further intervention, to reestablish market certainty - while confirming that today’s flexibility is a one-off on the path towards the 2035 zero-emissions car sales goal.❗
