Did you get a message from Albert Heijn about submitting your 2024 sustainability data and setting targets — but not sure what to do? ClimateCamp can help! For the past few years, we’ve supported companies in calculating their emissions, setting reduction targets, and sharing this data with key customers such as CSRD-compliant or SBTI-committed companies, through our platform. Many suppliers — especially smaller ones — haven’t yet calculated their emissions or are just starting out, but are eager to meet their customers’ sustainability requirements. That’s where ClimateCamp comes in. We make it easy and efficient to get started. Here’s how we can help: - Calculate Corporate (Scope 1, 2, and 3) and Product Carbon Footprints - Collect primary Scope 3 data from your suppliers - Support science-based target setting (e.g. SBTi) - Share emissions data with customers in a structured, transparent way Received the request and need support? Reach out to us at hello@climatecamp.io or request a demo via climatecamp.io — we’re happy to help. #Scope3 #sustainability #carbondata

  • For over 60 years, Bekina NV has been a pioneer in quality, innovation, and sustainability. With ambitious reduction goals—becoming energy neutral by 2040 and cutting Scope 3 emissions by 30% by 2030—they needed a trusted partner to calculate emissions, engage suppliers and provide CSRD guidance. 🤝 Together with Climatecamp they:  - Calculated Bekina’s full Scope 1, 2, and 3 footprint  - Engaged 60% of their suppliers, improving emissions reporting and incentivizing value chain reduction  - Organized CSRD workshops, preparing for compliance readiness As Davy Goossens, SDE Director at Bekina, puts it:  “We noticed from the actions taken through ClimateCamp, with calls and follow-ups to our suppliers, that things have started moving when it comes to sustainability and emissions reporting.” 📢 Developing carbon maturity is a journey, and Bekina shows that even without being forced by regulatory obligations, they are already leading the way. 🌱 We’ve raised €3.5M in seed funding, led by Expon Capital to supercharge our mission of accelerating Scope 3 emissions reduction. With over 85% of emissions hiding in supply chains, engaging suppliers is no longer nice-to-have. Yet for mid-market companies with limited resources, it remains a complex and time-intensive challenge. That’s were we come in. Since ClimateCamp launched in 2022 🚀 • 800+ companies are actively sharing data on our platform. • 50+ paying customers across Benelux, Germany & the US • Expanded from breweries to food & beverages, packaging & beyond • A growing team of over 18 employees, operating across Belgium and Luxembourg.  What sets us apart? 💡 We combine AI-driven automation with human supplier engagement to help companies move from reporting to real reduction faster. “We're investing in ClimateCamp because tackling Scope 3 emissions is one of the biggest challenges in sustainability, and they’ve built a smart, scalable way to solve it. Their platform gets suppliers on board quickly, makes carbon tracking easier, and helps companies turn sustainability goals into real action. We’re excited to support their journey with the Digital Tech Fund”.  - Marc Gendebien, Managing partner Expon Capital Thank you to all our investors Expon Capital, VLAIO - Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship, PMV, KBC Bank & Verzekering, Birdhouse Ventures, BAN Flanders - Business Angels Network Flanders, The Harbour, business angels and all other partners for believing in our vision. Tracking your carbon footprint is crucial—but how you calculate emissions can make all the difference. Should you go with spend-based, activity-based or both? 🧮 📊 Spend-Based Method Estimates emissions using financial data and industry averages—quick but not precise, and a change in price does not equal a change in emissions. 🔍 Activity-Based Method - Average-Data – Uses standard emission factors for better accuracy but still relies on generic averages. - Supplier-Specific – Leverages actual supplier data for the most precise footprint, but requires extensive data collection. 🔄 Hybrid Approach Combines all methods to balance feasibility and accuracy, improving data quality over time. Read the full blogpost via the following link: https://lnkd.in/e6X3As_Y At Climatecamp, we simplify activity-based calculations, mix different data sources, and help collect primary data for the highest accuracy. The proposed changes to Omnibus sparked quite some debate last week. At ClimateCamp, we choose to see this as an opportunity—to shift focus from compliance to action. Social media is buzzing about the proposed changes, so here’s a quick rundown: 🔹 CSRD delay – Wave 2 & 3 companies now report two years later (2028-2029). VSME being pushed for companies who do want to report. 🔹 Scope reduced and aligned with CSDDD – Now applies to companies with 1,000+ employees, €50M+ turnover, or a €25M+ balance sheet. 🔹 ESRS simplified – Fewer data points in an effort to reduce complexity. Less reporting, more action These changes will undoubtedly have an impact, slowing sustainability efforts for some companies. On the other hand, many smaller companies were already struggling with CSRD preparation and compliance. Now, with streamlined requirements and extra time, they can shift focus from paperwork to real sustainability action. How we see the way forward: 🟢  Capitalize on compliance investments by launching targeted sustainability projects. 🟢  Reallocate budgets toward improving carbon calculations, emissions reduction, circularity, and governance improvements. 🟢  Stay ahead—true sustainability leaders don’t wait for regulations to act. Sustainability isn’t just about compliance—it’s about long-term business value. Will your company seize this moment to drive real impact? 🌍 👉 Read more in our latest blog: https://lnkd.in/euDyuKMw

  • Skilled procurement professionals are essential in effectively engaging suppliers for sustainability data. 🍀 On Tuesday, we hosted the fourth edition of our community dinner, this time centered around supplier engagement. The discussion explored how to collaborate with the value chain to onboard suppliers, collect primary data, and establish shared reduction goals. Throughout the evening, we focused on three key areas: supplier engagement strategy, supplier onboarding, and primary data validation. Some key questions which were answered: ❓How do you select which suppliers to engage first? ❓How do you incentivize suppliers who don't want to share data? ❓How is responsability shared between procurement and sustainability? ❓How do you build a business case for supplier engagement? ❓Should you ask for primary data validation and if so, what should it contain? ❓What data points are you looking to retrieve? ❓Would you work with competitors to perform supplier engagement? …and much more. Discover the answers to all these questions and more in this blogpost: https://lnkd.in/ewqWmZZS Are you already involved in supplier engagement or exploring what value it might have? Are you involved in carbon footprint calculation, csrd or other emissions related topics? Comment below if you want to join us for our next event and which topic you think we should cover. 👇
