And the winner for the Access to Digital category is... 🎉 ICDL Trainerausbildung – ICDL Teacher Education 🎉 Dr. Manfred Tetz, Professor, Catholic University of Education, Vienna-Austria This innovative programme: 📌 enables schoolteachers, including young educators at the start of their careers, to gain certification in multiple digital modules. 📌 empowers students by embedding basic digital education into schools and equipping them with essential digital skills. 🧑🏫 Teachers became digital role models, boosting their own competences while helping pupils earn internet certifications and think critically about their digital habits. 🌍 In a world of constant smartphone use and back-to-back video calls, it's more important than ever to find a ‘healthy digital balance’ for students and teachers. A “Digital Detox” wave is rising, with Austria even debating a school smartphone ban, because digital literacy and well-being go hand in hand. 📝 Digital literacy, empowered teachers, and balanced lives! 🎉 The All Digital Weeks 2025 Awards Ceremony just wrapped up; What a powerful celebration of local innovation driving digital inclusion across Europe! The winners shared their own inspiring stories, each representing a key area of All Digital’s mission: 1️⃣ Access to Digital ICDL Teacher Education – Austria Training teachers to boost digital access in classrooms across the country. 2️⃣ Upskilling & Reskilling Hello Future Hackathon – Latvia Girls from different cities came together virtually to share ideas and show that tech has no gender. Their creativity and teamwork shone through in every solution. 3️⃣ AI & Emerging Tech FIRST® LEGO® League – Cyprus A robotics festival where 200+ young people explored STEM through coding, teamwork, and innovation—bridging generations and sparking future careers. 4️⃣ Digital Well-being Kybersoutez.cz Conference – Czechia Workshops and expert talks helped teachers, students, and even the army develop safe and responsible digital practices. 5️⃣ Digital Policy Digital Empowerment in Healthcare – Italy From rare disease advocates to data policy experts, this initiative connected citizens, professionals, and policymakers to advance digital health literacy and inclusion. Over 75,000 people participated in All Digital Weeks events this year. From rural schools to coworking hubs, they all helped shape a more inclusive digital future. David Mekkaoui announced that the awardees will join us at the All Digital Summit 2025 in Malta—because their work deserves a spotlight. Just wrapped up a powerful panel discussion at the All Digital Weeks 2025 Closing Event! Voices from the European Commission, Microsoft, and All Digital came together to explore how we can truly advance digital inclusion across Europe—not just in theory, but in practice. Bridging the gap between grassroots realities and high-level strategies is not optional—it’s essential. 🔵 Georgi Dimitrov (European Commission, DG EAC) emphasized the importance of moving beyond consultation to true co-creation. He shared how the Digital Education Hub connects practitioners with policymakers—ensuring initiatives like AI education guidelines are shaped by real-world insights. Digital transformation, he noted, must treat digital skills as fundamental as reading and math. 🔵 Andreea Calbeaza (Microsoft) spoke to the power of collective action, the human impact of digital inclusion, and Microsoft's commitment to building trust in technology. From accessibility to AI literacy, she highlighted the need for public-private partnerships to ensure no one is left behind in Europe’s digital transition. 🔵 Peter Palvolgyi (All Digital) reminded us that grassroots stories are the heart of this campaign. All Digital plays a vital role as a bridge between communities and EU policies—ensuring voices from the ground are heard at the highest levels. From supporting informal learning spaces like libraries to co-shaping EU frameworks, the work is ongoing—and urgent. 🔵 Our moderator's Tugce Selin Tagmat powerful wrap-up message brought it all together: This is about co-creation, working together, and building long-term trust in technology. It’s about ensuring the digital transition is inclusive, responsible, and human-centred. That’s how we make sure no one is left behind. 🚀 Celebrating the impact of All Digital Weeks 2025! “Imagine a Europe where every citizen has the digital skills to thrive in an increasingly digital world—and to fully embrace creativity, productivity, and well-being.” That’s the vision driving All Digital. All Digital Weeks is one of our flagship initiatives, bringing us closer to that goal. This year, the campaign inspired, trained, and empowered over 65,000 participants through more than 700 events, helping them reach their digital potential. This is how All Digital CEO David Mekkaoui, leading our mission for digital inclusion across Europe, opened the All Digital Weeks 2025 Closing Event. Altheo Valentini, President of All Digital, followed with a strong call to sustain the momentum. Speaking from a children’s competition, he blended policy, grassroots insights, and personal passion. 🎈 Celebrating the successful conclusion of All Digital Weeks 2025 and its impact! We’ve just kicked off the campaign closing event with an inspiring opening message from Henna Virkkunen, Executive Vice-President, European Commission - a powerful reflection on why digital inclusion and skills remains a top EU priority. 🔵 Virkkunen highlighted how, over the past three weeks, All Digital has strongly contributed to a shared European goal: boosting digital skills across Europe. As life becomes more digital, educating digital citizens is essential. The #UnionOfSkills offers a clear roadmap—uniting education, industry, and policy to train 20 million ICT specialists and ensure 80% of adults have basic skills by 2030. Tackling the digital and gender gap isn’t just the right thing to do—it’s the smart thing to do. Through new academies and youth competitions, we’re empowering the next generation, and success depends on working together. A strong message by Henna Virkkunen to carry forward:   ➡️ “There is no digital future, no truly digital society without the right digital skills”.
