Story House Early Learning is an emerging leader in the early childhood sector with services across NSW, VIC and QLD
About us
At Story House, every child’s story matters to us. We believe that each child is on their own unique journey that shapes the person they are and who they will become. Just like chapters in a book, we understand that each child steps through their ‘story’ at their own pace and in their own time. We believe learning is a lifelong journey and that early childhood education and care provides the foundation for learning for life. Children make sense of the world around them through the use of processes such as exploration, collaboration and problem solving across all aspects of the curriculum. They develop dispositions such as curiosity, persistence and creativity and use play to investigate, imagine and explore ideas, follow and extend their own interests. Children develop understandings of themselves and their world through active, hands-on play. A supportive active learning environment and responsive holistic programs enable children to follow their interests, feel success, thrive and have fun. Our educators are key to supporting children on their journey and we believe that relationships with families and community are key to supporting children to be global citizens and helping them to reach their potential. Let your story begin with us...

🌿 It’s #NaturePlayWeek! At Story House, we know that children don't just play in nature, they thrive in it. Nature play sparks imagination, builds resilience and deepens a child’s connection to the world around them. Across our services, educators are embracing nature play in inspiring and community connected ways, such as: - At Kew, our team has collaborated with leading academic Karen Malone to explore nature play in the wetlands. - Aberglasslyn has brought the Dirt Girl World philosophy to life, championing muddy hands, messy faces and adventurous play. - At Clyde North, we’ve teamed up with the local council on a Bush Kindy initiative that builds ecological awareness through real world experiences. Nature play doesn’t just happen. It’s intentionally designed by our incredible educators who embed place based and relational pedagogy in every moment. Whether it's mapping local areas, caring for Country or simply jumping in a puddle, every nature experience is a piece of a bigger learning puzzle! 🌳 💬 What’s your favourite way to bring nature into children’s learning?

🌳 As #NaturePlayWeek begins tomorrow, we are reminded of the value of real world learning, especially in today’s fast paced and technology driven world. Nature offers children the freedom to move, explore, and #connect with their environment in meaningful ways 🍃 🏡 At Story House, our educators play a vital role in guiding these outdoor experiences. #Nature play is more than just fun. It helps children in many ways: - Building resilience and confidence. - Strengthening physical and social skills. - Developing curiosity and creativity. - Creating a strong connection with the natural world. 🌿 In this context, nature becomes the classroom and educators become the facilitators. They help children turn every muddy moment into a learning opportunity. ✅ Tips to expand your nature play program: - Start simple: Introduce regular nature walks or outdoor storytime. - Involve children in setup: Let them help create outdoor spaces using natural materials. - Follow their lead: Observe children’s interests and expand on them with intentional experiences. - Reflect and plan: Use nature based moments as part of your documentation and curriculum planning. - Partner with families: Encourage nature play at home through shared ideas and community connections.
