Siniat’s metal framing products are a good example of “#circular products” and the closed loop usage model. End-of-life refers to the end of a product’s life cycle. In the case of #building products, this stage is often the #deconstruction of the building it was installed in. According to the 2018 National Waste Report, we know that an average of 90% of the metal products produced in Australia are #recycled at end-of-life by factories that produce new steel that goes back into the loop. Siniat uses BlueScope steel with 25% recycled content to make our products. We have also made significant progress in the reduction of the scrap we generate on site, with 50% less waste compared to 2016. All on-site waste we generate in the manufacture of our metal products is recycled. #Circularity is one of the pillars of the Etex Road to Sustainability 2030, and an important part of our #sustainability strategy. To find out more the life cycle of Sinat products and their environmental impact, download our Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for plasterboard and metal framing from our website https://lnkd.in/gpZ3rgCv. #letsbuildbettertogether #inspiringwaysofliving

Flinders University in Adelaide recently opened their new Health and Medical Research Building - a state-of-the-art 22,000-square-metre and 10-storey facility in Adelaide that brings together market-leading research, education and clinical expertise with community, culture and nature. Siniat has proudly supplied full plasterboard and metal framing systems to the project, with Molyvan Lim from our technical team providing engineering services and support. “Molyvan engineered everything and was fantastic to work with,” said Seth Powell, Project Manager with GMR Interiors, the ceilings and partitions contractor on the project. “He did regular site visits to make sure we were adhering to Siniat’s guidelines and happily provided engineering solutions when needed.” Siniat also proudly supplied our beautiful acoustic plasterboard Createx to the project. ☀️ Summertime…. But the living ain’t easy when you have to deal with #plasterboard #cracks! Buildings are designed and constructed to withstand most weather conditions, but #hot 🥵 and #dry conditions can aggravate the risk of cracks appearing in many components of the building due to movement of the structure. In this blog we explore the conditions that may lead to cracks appearing in plasterboard, and when to know if a crack is just a crack, or something more serious. https://lnkd.in/g28aumVP #inspiringwaysofliving #letsbuildbettertogether

Siniat’s Weather Defence™ is a rigid air barrier with a gypsum core that is used in #rainscreen or #ventilated #facade systems. Weather Defence is a great choice for buildings subject to higher wind pressures when wall wrap may not be strong enough. Compared to wall wrap, it is easier to create a #weathertight barrier with Weather Defence. Weather Defence also provides the quickest way to achieve a weathertight building, allowing internal trades to keep working even when the weather turns bad. This means that costly delays can be avoided, saving builders and contractors valuable time on site. Other benefits include: ☂️ Safe and easy to work with – simply score and snap! ☂️ Vapour permeable Class 4 - recommended for use in Climate Zones 2 to 8 ☂️ Improves #airtightness of the building ☂️ Compliant for facades requiring non-combustible construction ☂️ Water, weather and mould resistant – can be left exposed for up to 12 months #inspiringwaysofliving #letsbuildbettertogether https://lnkd.in/gpiMdxzh
