Most biotech starts with a molecule. The future starts with a model. We’re excited to announce we've backed Differential Bio, co-leading their €2M Pre-Seed round alongside Ananda Impact Ventures this past December. Because the real bottleneck in bio isn’t discovery—it’s scale. Fermentation is the core engine of biomanufacturing—powering everything from food to materials to medicine—but it’s empirical, fragile, and expensive. Differential is rewriting this paradigm. By combining systems biology, high-throughput experimentation, and next-gen AI, they’re building an adaptive, in silico foundation model of microbial life—a digital twin that simulates gene expression, cellular behavior, and process outcomes at scale. We're thrilled to be partnered with Christian Spier, Dong (Xiangdong) Zhao, and Martin Patz as they build the operating system for programmable biology. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gqCmc9TX

The team at Anthrogen (YC S24) continues to move at high velocity -- and they're looking for exceptionally talented and ambitious individuals to join them on their journey. See more below:
We’re delighted to announce Anthrogen (YC S24)'s partnership with Stanford University's renowned Fordyce Lab to advance enzyme discovery and protein engineering. The Fordyce Lab specializes in microfluidic assay development—driving down costs to acquire high-quality data for the next generation of generative Bio AI models. By integrating their microfluidics expertise with our robotics and large protein language model work, we aim to reduce the costs and complexity of measuring enzyme kinetics—often a bottleneck in research and biomanufacturing. This work will enable larger, high-quality datasets, accelerating innovation in the generative Bio AI space with applications across synthetic biology and in the cell-free system Anthrogen is developing. Read more about how we plan to streamline enzyme analysis in our latest blog post! https://lnkd.in/eGGTi3cq We're pursuing this avenue in tandem with our current plate-reading approach to ensure data production stability. We looking for super talented people to work on this and other really cool bench-based and computational work—send an email to jobs@anthrogen.com with a resume and a couple sentences on the most fulfilling project you've worked on. Would love to chat! Huge thank you to Polly Fordyce and Byungjin Lee for their collaboration for this project!

We are obsessed with the potential for regenerative technologies to enhance and enrich the lives of people everywhere. The founders we partner with reimagine our way of life from the atom up, building products, services and experiences that are mind-blowingly more awesome in every single way. No compromises. Better everything.
If you have the freedom to choose, work on climate solutions. My latest piece in TIME in collaboration with Dan Fitzgerald and our ReGen Ventures family.

Earlier this year, we spent time with our portfolio founders to document their vision for the future and how they plan to make it a reality. And every conversation reinforced one thing: the future won’t just arrive; it will be built by people like Yudí Ding and companies like PACT. True transformation isn’t just about what you create; it’s about ensuring that innovation is ready to scale, grow, and endure over time. PACT is the world’s first technology platform enabling manufacturers and brands to produce and scale biomaterials, starting with collagen. This isn’t about incremental change; it’s about laying the foundation for industries to replace legacy materials with innovative, scalable alternatives that don’t compromise on quality or cost. Imagine moving from traditional leather and petroleum-based synthetics to materials that are actively restoring the planet and built for mass-market adoption. This is no longer just a vision—it’s the future being shaped today. We're thrilled to have backed Anthrogen's incredible team working to create carbon-negative chemicals. The team is using cutting-edge technology and slashing costs while aiming to decarbonize the production of things we use day-in and day-out. We couldn't be more excited to partner with Ankit, Connor, and Vignesh as they tackle this wildly ambitious mission.
Super excited to announce Anthrogen (YC S24) closed a $4M seed round a few weeks ago led by BoxGroup and ReGen Ventures with participation from funds like Wayfinder Ventures, Liquid 2 Ventures, Soma Capital, Ritual Capital, Collaborative Fund (SFF), and Pioneer Fund. We also have a great team of angels including Paul Graham, Kulveer Taggar, Todd Goldberg and Rahul Vohra's Angel Fund, and others! We’re pumped to be working on turning carbon dioxide into valuable chemicals by way of AI-designed enzymatic cascades. Huge shout out to Gustaf Alströmer 🇺🇦 at Y Combinator, without whom this wouldn’t have been possible and to Katie Fehrenbacher for the write-up in Axios: https://lnkd.in/efCDi8yG And, of course, to my co-founders Connor Lee and Vignesh Karthik! Seagrass meadows are essential blue carbon sinks. They’re the secret weapon of carbon removal — sequestering carbon permanently in marine sediment, at rates up to 35 times more efficiently than rainforests. But these ecosystems are declining, and traditional restoration methods can’t keep up with the scale required. It can take a team of human divers one year to restore a couple of hectares. Enter Ulysses Ecosystem Engineering Inc. - the ReGen backed team aiming to do that in one day! Learn more in the ReGen Deep Dive: https://lnkd.in/gFqG6DH9
