Today marks a major milestone: the completion of the chassis build for our revolutionary AirRefinery. With thermal boosters now mounted on its roof, we are preparing to load and test the filters that will drive its transformative capabilities. Set for unveiling this April, the AirRefinery is poised to redefine energy production by delivering the world’s lowest-cost carbon dioxide and hydrogen from air. Designed and built in Australia, it will soon head to our Project RamJet in West Texas for mass manufacturing, paving the way for global impact. This innovation enables us to compete directly with fossil fuels on cost for eFuels, heralding a new era in sustainable energy.

Fugu is pleased to announce that Renate Egan has joined the board of directors. Renate is a Professor of Engineering at UNSW and the Centre Director for the Australian Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics (ACAP). She is co-founder and director of five technology start-ups and has been recognised nationally and internationally for contributions to technology developments in the solar industry. Renate joins Fugu at an exciting time and will offer valuable input as we build out one of the largest solar farms in North America with Project Copperhead.

🐡 Welcome Fugu Carbon to the Investible portfolio! 🐡 Fugu is an early-stage carbon dioxide removal (CDR) technology startup whose team are ambitiously targeting a gigatonne of CO2e removal per year. 🫁 Led by former SunCable executives Luke Marshall and Mac Thompson, Fugu is building a new set of mass-manufacturable artificial lungs for the planet. What's more, they already have a working prototype that they’ve constructed with scalability in mind. Investible are excited to announce that we led Fugu’s oversubscribed Seed round, with participation from Counteract, Jelix Ventures, and Electrifi Ventures. Direct Air Industries has rebranded as Fugu. Fugu produces renewable fuels and gases through CO2 air capture at scale. We think Fugu is more memorable and less of a mouthful. Imagine this cute little fish sucking CO2 and storing the toxins. If only that's how its biology worked!
