The DPV Health Board, Executive & Community Advisors had a great two days at the Annual Strategy workshop last week. Over the course of two days, the team, evaluated our progress in relation to the DPV Health Strategic Plan for 2022 to 2027. We are delighted to say three years into the plan, DPV Health has completed or is well progressed on over 70% of it. ✨ This has been achieved through the delivery of: > Clinical & Community Service Plan’s 5 year objectives, with new services launched across GP clinics, children’s programs, aged care, mental health, dental, family violence, victims of crime etc. > Master Plan’s 5 year objectives, with new sites opening in Craigieburn, Epping, Mernda & Mickleham > Community Engagement Plan Recommendations: Growth of Consumer Advisory Network, Lived Experience Co-Leaders, Co-Design Framework, community festivals and action plans implemented for at risk groups. > Thriving Culture Strategy, with industry leading employee engagement, leadership development, employee value proposition, new HRIS, high staff retention, multi-cultural celebration and wellbeing initiatives. > ICT & Data Plans with a CRM implemented, award winning cyber security, new clinical grade network, cloud first infrastructure migration and business intelligence team established. The workshop also provided an opportunity to discuss the enormous change occurring across the Victorian health system and understand how DPV Health can best support our community and sector during this time and into the future. Thank you to Katharine Manning of ManningCo for facilitating the workshop and to the Board, Executive & Community Advisors who attended.

It is with great sadness that we advise Max Lee (former Strategic Partnerships and Alliances Manager at DPV Health), passed away last week. Max made enormous contribution to DPV Health, the Hume Whittlesea Primary Care Partnership, Plenty Valley Community Health and the communities of Melbourne’s north. He had a deep passion for social justice, population health and addressing health inequities across the region. We are eternally grateful Max was able to share his expertise, amazing networks, passion for community health and wonderful manner with us. He will be missed by many people across Melbourne’s north. We extend our deepest condolences to Max's family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. DPV Health joins the global community in celebrating Transgender Day of Visibility - a day dedicated to honouring the achievements and resilience of transgender and gender-diverse peoples. This day highlights our commitment to promoting an inclusive environment where everyone feels seen, respected, and valued. DPV Health does not discriminate and provides affirmative care because we believe ‘You Are Who You Say You Are’. Why is this important? Recent data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics reveals that approximately 0.9% of Australians aged 16 years and over identify as transgender or gender diverse, including trans men, trans women, and non-binary individuals. Among younger Australians, the percentage is much higher with 1.8% of those aged 16–24 identifying as such. Despite their ongoing contributions to our communities, transgender individuals often face significant health disparities. Studies indicate that nearly half (48.1%) of transgender young people aged 14–25 have attempted suicide, and three out of four experience anxiety and depression. DPV Health encourage everyone to support local trans events, support and uplift trans voices, and show love and respect to all the trans people in your life today and every day.
