World Water Day aims to raise awareness of access to safe water and we’re reminded of the vital role quality water plays in all our lives. At CETEC, our technical specialists continue to push innovative improvements that address water quality in buildings around the world. From protecting the most vulnerable in Hospitals and Aged Care Facilities to optimising health outcomes in offices and schools our expertise spans areas such as water sampling, legionella risk management plans and water compliance. CETEC is excited to be part of the Green Building Council of Australia’s Transform Conference this week. Adam Garnys, Principal, will be on the panel for the day one breakout session ‘Creating healthy environments for people to thrive’. Alongside Matthew Trowbridge, MD, MPH, Ed Cotter, Lauren Kajewski, Andrew Colangelo and Hugh Roberts , he'll be focusing on what's coming next for well-being in the built environment. Dangerous Goods in Australian Hospitals– Improving Occupant Safety Consulting with hospitals, IVF centers and day surgeries across Australia we’re helping to make healthcare safer. While Medical gases, like oxygen and nitrous oxide, are essential in healthcare, they come with significant risks if improperly stored or used. These gases are often kept onsite and pose a risk to building structures and human health.   Oxygen and Nitrous Oxide, which are both classified as oxidizing gases, can dramatically increase fire risk. Additionally, Nitrous Oxide (aka laughing gas) has strict exposure limits under Workplace Exposure Standards, and prolonged exposure could harm health. Due to these inherent risks, compliant storage practices are critical.   We developed a framework for assessing your existing or proposed gas cylinder stores, and provide improved risk mitigation solutions based on AS 4332 requirements, including AS 2896 and AS/NZS 60079.29.2.
