You’re already in the industry. Now help us open the door for others. Our It’s Possible campaign — proudly supported by the NSW Government’s Women in Construction Industry Innovation Program — is all about encouraging mid-career women to consider a fresh start in construction. Many women have never seen construction as a career option. Others aren’t sure what it’s really like. That’s why we’ve been taking them behind the scenes on site tours with ACA members — to show them that it's possible and skills are transferrable. Please help spread the word and direct to this website for some great resources (and there still time for a few more site tours!). These site visits are a powerful part of our It’s Possible campaign, showing women what the industry is really like and helping them see how their existing skills can translate into a meaningful career. Thanks Leisa Rathborne (GAICD) for speaking with the women who joined our Sydney Children's Hospital site tour earlier this month. Help us keep the momentum going by sharing the campaign and encouraging others to get involved: itspossible.net.au #FlipToConstruction NSW Women in Construction
Building world-class hospitals relies on the hard work and ingenuity of people working in the construction industry. And that’s why I’m so proud to support the Australian Constructors Association (ACA)’s It’s Possible campaign, funded by the NSW Government's Women in Construction Industry Innovation Program, helping mid-career women consider a switch to construction. We are welcoming women to both the Sydney Children’s Hospital and Eurobodalla Regional Hospital projects, as part of the campaign, to see construction up close, and meet some of the people from our project teams. I had the privilege of meeting 15 of these women on Tuesday and talking to them about the factors drawing them to the industry. They called out the diversity of activity and the development opportunities for those with key transferable skills gained overseas. A huge thank you to ACA, John Holland, Infrastructure NSW and the Health Infrastructure team, for another great partnership supporting women in construction. #nsw #nswgov #nswhealth #itspossible #ACA #INSW #healthinfrastructure #infrastructure #construction #WIC #womeninconstruction #ISLP

🚆 Exciting win for the ActivUs Alliance, having been awarded the design and pre-construction contract for the main works package on the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project. ACCIONA AU & NZ alongside CPB Contractors, UGL, SMEC and WSP will work in partnership with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads and Queensland Rail to progress design and project planning activities. The Project will deliver more frequent and reliable train services between Brisbane and the Gold Coast and contribute to regional growth by unlocking critical network capacity. It will deliver a sustainable transport solution that will improve connectivity and help prepare for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Congratulations! https://lnkd.in/gBkrvMH6

We’re bringing some serious energy (and maybe a few laughs) to Foundations and Frontiers #FF25 with a session you won’t want to miss: Family Feud – the construction edition! Inspired by the game show, this high-energy session will pit teams from across the sector — clients, contractors, consultants and more — against each other to see who really knows the industry best. This isn’t just for fun (although it will be fun). It’s about breaking down silos, surfacing common ground and revealing the surprising truths that unite and divide us — as we work toward #FromMeToWe. The construction industry has weathered some tough times. There is a growing realisation that without action we will simply not be able to deliver all the infrastructure that the nation requires, and that has led to the development of a whole range of initiatives that should start to come to fruition this year and lead to positive change within the industry. But here’s the catch: none of it will work without a mindset shift across the board. We need to move from me to we. For too long, construction has been a zero-sum game — contractor vs contractor, client vs consultant, everyone chasing their own win. But in a deeply interconnected industry, that approach is a dead end. A 'we' mindset changes everything. It means recognising that everyone has a role in making the industry better — and we all stand to gain. That’s the shift we’re championing at the Foundations and Frontiers forum this August. Inspired by COP and Davos, it’s where leaders, policymakers and changemakers will come together to tackle the big questions — starting with: How can I help you, so you can help me? Join us in Brisbane on 6 August for #FF25: https://lnkd.in/gW5yq-DJ

Major Project Canberra isn't waiting for proposed requirements to make construction sites more people friendly, particularly for women. Director-General and chief engineer Gillian Geraghty explains that the agency is already a few months into a 12-month program of rolling out Culture Standard requirements being proposed by the Construction Industry Culture Taskforce. Ms Geraghty said the Culture Standard was required at the Northside Hospital project recently awarded to Multiplex, and there were already other programs in train supporting women in construction. Two site tours in one day – what a treat! Yesterday, our It’s Possible site tours at the Sydney Children’s Hospital Stage 1 and Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre projects in Randwick proved that more women are seriously considering construction as a career. John Holland’s Chief Strategy Officer JAYNE WHITNEY said, “These site tours are breaking down outdated stereotypes and showing women they have a place in this industry. “The energy and enthusiasm we’re seeing proves that when women see the opportunities available, they’re ready to take that next step.” Find out more about our It’s Possible campaign aimed at attracting mid-career women to construction: www.itspossible.net.au

Our second It’s Possible site tour is happening now at the Sydney Children’s Hospital Stage 1 and Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Randwick—huge thanks to John Holland for making it possible! Kasey Freckleton led our first group through the site, giving participants a firsthand look at life in construction. The enthusiasm has been incredible! It’s Possible is proudly funded by the NSW Government’s NSW Women in Construction Industry Innovation Program, helping to open new doors for women in construction. #FlipToConstruction Find out more: https://lnkd.in/ghGbTuJM
