STEM Challenge project identifies bright young minds in STEM subjects - Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics - across school students in India to showcase their project based Application skills in STEM subjects..... The students get to experience Australian standards, thus gaining invaluable knowledge application skills at an early age in their life. The project was administered by Waran's Academy of Excellence - (Sister concern of Education Overseas Academy) and students from.nearly 650.schools in India participated. Exciting leadership news at ANU 🎓 Professor Joan Leach has been appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic). A visionary leader across science, humanities and education, Joan brings deep expertise and a bold vision for the future of higher ed. 👏
We are delighted to share that Professor Joan Leach has been appointed as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at ANU. Professor Leach’s multidisciplinary research spans the natural sciences, social sciences and the humanities. During her time at ANU, she has held multiple senior leadership roles including as Director of the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science and as the Chair of the Academic Board. She has also held roles at Imperial College London, the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Queensland. ANU Vice-Chancellor and President Genevieve Bell said she is thrilled by the appointment. “Joan is an exceptional leader and I'm delighted she is taking on this role and leadership for education and teaching at ANU." Amid heightened geopolitical tensions, the higher education sector has a "once-in-a-generation" opportunity to come together, Professor Leach said. “The higher education sector is changing rapidly ... but it's also a time where ANU can shine, because we have expertise to help students make sense of all these changes, and we also have expertise to help policymakers understand the value of higher education.” Professor Leach will formally commence as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) on Monday 14 April.
