🌍 We’re proud to have supported a great cause! At refurbed, we recently donated 20 of our old Dell laptops to #ArbingMeetsAfrica, an incredible NGO that is making a difference in education in Kamobo, Kenya. Arbing Meets Africa was founded to provide quality education to children in a community where the options were limited. What started as a small, community-driven initiative in 2015 has grown into a school that continues to impact the lives of many. When Arbing Meets Africa reached out in the fall, we were happy to give our old laptops a third (or fourth!) life, supporting the school’s mission to improve education and technology access for the students. We believe in making a positive impact in the communities we serve, and it's exciting to see how these laptops will help students in Kamobo. Together, we can make a difference. 🙌

On 12 February, the EU Commission unveiled its work programme for 2025, focusing on a “Bolder, Simpler, Faster Union.” The priority? Reducing administrative burdens and simplifying existing rules to drive innovation and growth. 🔍 What’s missing? Sustainability. Circular economy. Green policies. Instead of advancing new sustainability legislation, the Commission’s only explicit mention of environmental laws is in the context of simplification—which could mean rollbacks or delays. It also confirms that the much-hailed Circular Economy Act won’t arrive before Q4 2026. 💡 What does this mean for refurbed & our sector? ✅ Potential simplification of some administrative burdens. ✅ An opportunity to push for a regulatory framework that actively supports innovative and growing sectors, like refurbishment. ⚠️ However, the lack of new sustainability laws is a major setback for global environmental goals—and for our vision of making consumption sustainable. Now, more than ever, we need to advocate for strong policies that drive the circular economy forward.
