Fresh insights from AgTech investment! Kyle Welborn from The Yield Lab North America has just released the Q1 2025 AgTech Investment and Exit Roundup report. In his latest analysis of Crunchbase data, Kyle highlights that last quarter, 162 AgTech startups raised a total of $1.8B. This represents a slight 2% decline in funding and a 14% decrease in the number of deals compared to Q4 2024. At The Yield Lab LATAM, we are excited to have participated again in the VC Summit, a key event for continuing to promote venture capital in the region. Since the first edition, we have been present, convinced that strengthening this ecosystem is fundamental to the growth of innovation and investment. This summit provided an invaluable platform to assess market dynamics, reinforce local venture capital hubs across Argentina, Chile, Brazil, and Mexico, and forge new co-investment partnerships. We observe a maturing sector, characterized by increased capital flow and specialization; however, we acknowledge the ongoing need to further consolidate this market and attract greater participation from local limited partners. This year, alongside engaging in strategic discussions, we were pleased to feature a panelist, sharing our insights and reinforcing our dedication to the sector's development. Driving the future of AgriFoodTech in Colombia: First Agri Innovation Roundtable in motion ⭕ Building on the success of two thriving seasons in Mexico, we are excited to announce the launch of our first "Agri Innovation Roundtable" in Colombia, a space for collaboration and dialogue that will bring together key players in the ecosystem for 9 months. What is the main challenge? 🤔 Instead of pointing out just one, the roundtable will work to build consensus on the most pressing challenges and address them through technology. Leading companies are gathering to share their experiences and drive the demand for innovative solutions. This initiative, originated by The Yield Lab Institute and #TheYieldLabLatam, is made possible by the collaboration of agcenter, our local partner, whose deep knowledge and experience are key to enabling the ecosystem. In this first meeting, Tomás Peña shared the latest trends in investment and advances in AgriFoodTech in Latin America, reaffirming The Yield Lab Latam's commitment to the development of the Colombian ecosystem, where a new investment in AgriCapital S.A.S has recently been completed. Together, we can build a more productive, sustainable, and competitive sector.
