Current national plans are set to deliver only half of the renewable energy growth needed by 2030, leaving a 3.8 TW gap. As the custodian of the #3xRenewables target, International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) warns that the #UAEConsensus goal will fall short by 34%. The third round of NDCs in 2025 must close the gap and accelerate the transition to a #sustainablefuture. Read for more insights: bit.ly/3UuUgR5

The rapid growth of global #renewableenergy is undeniable, but deep regional disparities threaten the success of the #3xRenewables goal. While #G20 and #G7 nations lead the way, many countries in the Global South, including Small Island Developing States, are being left behind. For a truly sustainable energy transition, international support must be urgently scaled up to ensure that every region has access to clean, affordable energy. Learn more: bit.ly/43wt1eh

#Malawi’s agriculture sector is the backbone of its economy — employing 77% of the population and contributing 23% to the national GDP. Yet, despite its importance, the sector continues to face deep-rooted challenges: low productivity, limited mechanisation, and poor access to reliable energy, especially in rural areas. 📝 New IRENA report explores how decentralised renewable energy solutions, such as solar-powered irrigation and biomass-based processing, can help address these gaps. By improving energy access across agricultural value chains like dairy, rice, aquaculture and legumes, these solutions have the potential to boost productivity, reduce post-harvest losses, and enhance climate resilience.
