Exciting news from Malaysia where our TCP Jumper technology has been successfully fitted at the Deepwater Sabah project. Installed by McDermott International, Ltd on behalf of an international operator, it is the second time our TCP product has been deployed in the region. Fabienne Ellington, Strohm’s Vice President for Africa, Middle East & Asia-Pacific, said: “It is brilliant that we have been able to complete the installation phase of this project for an international operator, a success that reaffirms TCP as the ideal solution for deepwater projects and further strengthens our leading position in the market.” This latest project also underlined the value of Strohm’s Jumper on Demand concept, as the two, 150-meter-long TCP Jumpers were able to be securely stored until required. During the installation they were both spooled onto subsea pallets, where Strohm’s field services team were able to fit the ancillaries. Crucially, there were no residual bends in the pipe, despite it having been kept in storage, as TCP doesn’t have a strong memory effect. ✨ Every other year, we at Havtil - Havindustritilsynet gather data from operators to understand the well integrity of temporarily plugged and abandoned wells on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). This year, a total of 488 wells were reported — approximately double the 227 wells from our previous survey in 2022. The increased number of reported wells results from including all inactive wells that haven’t been in operation for over a year. When discussing temporarily abandoned wells, one question always arises: When should a well transition from being considered "temporarily" to "permanently" abandoned? And should we distinguish between the "plugging" and "abandonment" phases, or are these terms fundamentally connected? ❓ Below are examples of various wells. Unleaded Amoco 2024 SDP 30th Annual Conference New to DQ Track - April 16, 2024 Speaker: Carl Spetzler (Strategic Decisions Group) Abstract: Lead additives to enhance the octane level of gasoline were still legal. However, Standard Oil of Indiana (later Amoco) had acquired an oil company that produced high octane unleaded “white” gas. Should we introduce such unleaded gas nationwide? This was a huge decision with highly uncertain consequences. It had already been analyzed a number of times and a new president wished to resolve the question once and for all. He commissioned a major study team that evaluated 11 scenarios in great depth. Then added a Decision Analysis in the last month. This provided a great comparison between traditional methods and DA. #SDG
