Hong Kong-based Rainmaker Ventures and Shenzhen-based LINKTA Technologies have partnered with the Indonesian state-owned enterprise (SOE) Perumda Varia Niaga Samarinda on a smart poultry #farm project that aims to support the growth of Indonesia’s new capital city, Nusantara. The three parties signed an MoU at last year’s Belt and Road Summit, outlining their investment and technical development plans with the goal of achieving sustainable egg production in Indonesia. The summit, organised by #HKTDC, brings together key officials and business leaders from countries and regions along and beyond the Belt and Road to exchange insights on multilateral co-operation and explore business opportunities. The parties also signed an exclusive procurement contract valued at US$30 million for the farm to supply Perumda with nearly 1 million eggs each day over the next five years. Rainmaker Ventures plans to meet with co-investors and rural banks in Indonesia to finalise the deal structure. Hong Kong edtech start-up Cathoven AI simplifies language learning by customising teaching materials for various levels and needs in seconds. The platform aims to provide a more engaging and motivating learning experience for students while easing the burden of lesson preparation for teachers. Cathoven’s tools are developed from scratch, leveraging expertise in AI and linguistics and adhering to internationally recognised frameworks such as the IELTS. Since its launch, the #startup has attracted tens of thousands of users and secured seed funding and grants from renowned institutions. Cathoven was recognised as one of the 2024 winners of the #HKTDC’s entrepreneurship development programme, Start-up Express.
