We sensed something important was happening at the University of Washington annual EERI Distinguished Lecture, and we were right! 🤩 Professor Michael Olsen from Oregon State University delivered a fascinating talk on emerging technologies in Geomatics and monitoring, covering everything from LiDAR and UAS to remote sensing and advanced data modeling. His insights into data quality, modeling techniques, and selecting the right tools for the job had us laser-focused! Sixense also made valuable connections with bright students (some of whom are already eager to join our team 👷♂️👷♀️) and engaged with industry leaders. We’re always looking for ways to grow, connect, and innovate—and events like these keep us moving forward. Thanks to Professor Olsen for sharing his expertise and sparking some great conversations! #Sixense #LiDAR #Innovation #Networking

Say hello to one of our longest-serving team members and #EmployeeSpotlight this month: Charles LE SAOUT! 🌟 Having been with Sixense since the beginning (when we were still known as Soldata), Charles has played a crucial role over 17 years as an Instrumentation and Monitoring Expert, designing monitoring plans, coordinating with clients to implement them, and ensuring the quality of deliverables. Though he’s currently based in our Seattle office, he has made a lasting impact across the entire organization. Nearly 13 years ago, he was instrumental in helping lay the foundation for what is now Sixense, Inc., traveling across the U.S. and Canada to support remote job sites. From makeshift offices in the back of rental cars to a well-established presence in Ontario, British Columbia, California, Maryland, and Virginia - he’s had a hand in shaping the company we are today. 3 fun facts about Charles 🌄 When he’s not working, you’ll usually find him outside, hiking up a mountain, camping with friends, or snowboarding. 🌙 He has a deep appreciation for the moon and the trees – which is why he loves camping and the outdoors so much! ❄️ One of his biggest accomplishments was marrying his wife on a glacier in Iceland. With breathtaking snow-covered landscapes, it remains his favorite place in the world. Join us in celebrating Charles’ dedication & lasting contributions! #SixenseNorthernAmerica #MeetTheTeam #EmployeeRecognition #EmployeeAppreciation

Hey friends! 👋 We're doing a little #SpringCleaning across our offices in the U.S. and have some equipment looking for a new home. If you're from a university or research institution and could benefit from high-end GNSS, geophones, or automatic data acquisition systems (not all shown in the picture below)—in excellent condition—for your research or educational programs, Sixense is continuing our long-standing initiative of donating technology to support education and research. This initiative is something we've been doing for years, and it brings a ton of benefits (besides just clearing space—though that’s a nice bonus 😉): -Investing in academia – students can get hands-on experience with real-world technology. -Extending the life of high-quality equipment – sustainability matters. -Strengthening partnerships – collaboration fuels innovation. Our efforts tie in perfectly with our #CorporateSocialResponsibility commitment to build long-term relationships and support education, research, and the evolution of our industry. Over the years, we’ve made donations to Oregon State University, the University of California, Berkeley, and North Carolina State University, and we’d love to continue supporting the next generation of engineers and researchers. 📧 If you're interested in receiving these instruments or learning more, please send a message to our USA Technical Director Zhangwei Ning, PhD (zhangwei.ning@sixense-group.com). You can also learn more about our #CSR approach by visiting our website: https://bit.ly/4hsOmIO. #Sustainability #Engineering #Innovation

What does it take to ensure a 7-mile-long, 18-foot-diameter tunnel gets built beneath LA’s bustling roads, utilities, and neighborhoods—without a hitch? 🎥 Watch this quick flyover for an inside look at how Sixense is helping make it happen! 👀 As a part of the #ClearwaterProject, we are staying active by monitoring underground and surface conditions on the LA Outfall Tunnel that is being constructed to convey treated water to the ocean. To achieve this, various instruments are deployed, including: 📡Utility Monitoring Points (UMP): Keeping tabs on the utility settlement. 📍 Automated Motorized Total Stations (AMTS): Providing extensive surface coverage for monitoring. 📏Extensometers: Ensuring precise ground movements at various depths. Our cutting-edge monitoring system ensures the tunnel is built safely with vigilant oversight. #SixenseNorthernAmerica #Tunneling #Monitoring #AssetManagement

Last month, Aaron Meyer, Instrumentation Specialist from our Maryland office, took center stage at the Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. during the AKP40 Standing Committee on Pavement Structural Testing and Evaluation. His presentation focused on the groundbreaking #ALARTE program, a collaborative effort spearheaded by our team in France to revolutionize inclinometer technology. So, what’s ALARTE all about? 🤔 It’s an autonomous robotic #Inclinometer probe designed to bridge the gap between the high performance of in-place inclinometers and the cost-efficiency of manual probes. By eliminating manual readings, improving safety, and reducing costs, it’s making ground monitoring safer, smarter, and more accessible. He shared the journey behind the tech’s development, its game-changing applications across industries, and its potential to address global challenges like climate-induced landslides. Kudos to Aaron and the entire Sixense team for leading the charge on innovation that makes a difference! 🎉 #SixenseNorthernAmerica #Innovation #Engineering #GroundMonitoring The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine
