Today is "I Rock the Dot" day – today is all about celebrating our incredible Polka Dot Powerhouse Sisterhood, where women come together, both in business and on a personal level - to uplift and empower each other! At Polka Dot Powerhouse, we're not just about talk; we walk the walk together. We inspire and motivate each other, cheering on every success and lifting each other up through challenges. To my Polka Dot Sisters, thank you for: *. Inspiring me to pursue my dream of becoming a fitness coach. *. Motivating me to share my story and become a published author. *. Helped shaping me into the leader I am today. *. Always having my back, no matter what. (The list goes on!) As the managing director of the dynamic San Mateo Chapter for nearly 7 years, leading this incredible group has been a true honor. A special thank you to Shannon Crotty, our visionary Founder and CEO, for bringing Polka Dot Powerhouse to life and touching the lives of countless women. Curious about joining in on this magic? Let's connect – I'm always up for talking Polka Dot!

What is your Superpower? My superpower is building community - wherever I go! I love my gym community- and feel honored to be coaching at the amazing Cañada College Athletic Center and College of San Mateo Athletic Center. My week of gym coaching kicks off at 6 a.m. every Monday, and from that moment on, I dedicate myself to coaching, motivating, and inspiring countless individuals to become the best and strongest versions of themselves. By the time my coaching week wraps up at 9:50 a.m. on Friday, I’m completely energized—my heart is full, and my cup overflows. I'm sweaty but always smiling after teaching my last spin class for the week, the sense of fulfillment is immeasurable. I feel incredibly blessed to coach at some of the top facilities on the Peninsula, surrounded by an amazing community of people. I absolutely love watching our members grow stronger and fitter, learning to love and appreciate their bodies—and most importantly, having fun along the way! By the way, my nickname "Beast" was given to me by my friend Cindy Kasali, so of course, I had to get the T-shirt! And I have to add—Cindy has become quite the mini beast herself these days!

  • Thank you, Halle Berry, for raising awareness about menopause! Being in menopause doesn’t mean we’re past our prime. In my opinion, women over 50 are some of the most resilient and strongest people leading change! MenoPAUSE? I'm not pausing - more like MenoGO! I’m just getting started!

There’s still a stigma around #menopause. Menopause starts anywhere from age 45-55 and lasts an average of seven years. That means, around 20% of your workforce is experiencing menopause symptoms at any given time. In fact, menopausal women are the fastest growing demographic in the workforce. I’m on hormones for menopause. It causes dry mouth. When I’m on stage, sometimes my mouth gets so dry it’s hard to speak. My tips? Chew gum in advance of speaking, but don’t forget to spit it out before going on stage! Drink plenty of water and make sure you have water available to drink throughout whenever needed. And finally, don’t be afraid to be vulnerable and talk about it! There have been times I’ve had to fan myself when I was having a hot flash. Other times, I was on stage when I’ve paused to say, “I need to drink some water, I’m on hormones.” The more we talk about it, the more normal it becomes.
