The 2025 PMI Pulse of the Profession® report reveals a key insight: business acumen is a critical skill for today’s project leaders. However, a skills gap remains. Only 18% of project professionals have strong business acumen, while most are still developing this essential competency (66% moderate, 16% low). As the profession evolves, students and educators have a unique opportunity to bridge this gap.
