After many years of dedicated service in the Federal government — including leadership roles at USDA, EPA, and DCMA — I'm now exploring my next chapter. With over two decades managing IT portfolios, leading high-performing teams, and delivering mission-critical programs, I’m looking for a role where I can leverage my expertise in IT program and portfolio management, Agile SDLC, federal acquisition, and strategic planning. What do I bring to the table? I bring: ✅ Proven leadership of cross-functional teams and complex IT portfolios (up to $20M+ annually) ✅ Deep knowledge of federal cybersecurity and acquisition policy (FISMA, FedRAMP, FAR) ✅ PMP, ScrumMaster, SAFe PM/PO, and FAC-P/PM Senior certifications ✅ A passion for delivering systems that are secure, compliant, and aligned with mission goals If your organization needs a seasoned professional to drive IT modernization, improve project performance, develop high-performing teams, or strengthen contract execution — I’d love to connect. Well after about 3 weeks of reinstatement, I, along with other probationary employees at NOAA, officially got "re-fired" today (6 weeks after the original firing) after a temporary restraining order was lifted by an appeals court earlier this week. While perhaps not surprising (federal appeals processes can bounce around a lot), it's still pretty discouraging and feels like a very silly process.

Hi LinkedIn family! This update is to let you all know that, unfortunately, my position with the Minority Business Development Agency is scheduled to be RIF’d on May 9th. Losing what I considered to be my dream job in the federal government is a devastating blow, and the journey ahead feels uncertain. I am deeply proud of the work I’ve done in this short time to support the incredible mission of the MBDA and to have contributed to the success of minority-owned businesses. While this transition is difficult, I remain optimistic about the future and am actively seeking new opportunities. With my experience in grants and program management, I am open to exploring roles where I can continue to create meaningful impact. If you know of any opportunities in these areas, I would greatly appreciate your support and consideration. I’m attaching my resume below and would be grateful for any leads, recommendations, or advice as I navigate this next chapter. Thank you in advance for your kindness and support. #openforwork #grantsmanagement #programmanagement #federalworkers #RIF #jobsearch #federalgovernment #careertransition

Senior contract administrator | $10M acquisition authority | Public-sector procurement specialist | FAR | UCC

My RIF story: I supported the World Trade Center Health Program, managing contracts that deliver healthcare to over 132,000 September 11th survivors and responders — a mission I was privileged to be part of. Like thousands of my colleagues at HHS, I was impacted by last week's reduction in force (RIF). I began my acquisition career at CDC in 2019 as a Presidential Management Fellow (PMF), supporting CDC’s immunization program. I negotiated $2.4B in COVID-19 vaccine contracts — the agency’s first. My acquisitions career also includes a stint at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), where I supported the agency’s global service contracts. I’ve managed diverse contracts, from IT and professional services to large supply contracts, facilities services, and R&D. My career has been about public service — as a military officer, in local government, and most recently as a federal civil servant. Now, I’m excited to bring my experience in innovative, cost-efficient procurement to local/state government, universities, or government-focused firms tackling thorny public policy challenges. Based in Atlanta but open to relocating, I’d love to hear from you if you’re hiring or navigating a similar transition — let’s connect!

📣 After more than 15 years in public service, I’m one of many dedicated federal workers recently impacted by staffing reductions — and I’m now looking toward what’s next. 💡 I’ve worked behind the scenes of big government programs — now I want to build solutions that actually work for the people they’re meant to serve. 🔹 My experience spans federal leadership and frontline county systems, with deep expertise in: 🏛️ Public policy 🧩 Human services & social programs 🧑🏽🤝🧑🏼 Tribal partnerships 🧠 Behavioral health & recovery ⚖️ Justice systems & systems-involved youth 📊 Equity-driven, data-informed strategies 💻 Technology that improves service delivery 🧒🏽👩👧 Social determinants of health for youth and families 🌐 I’m especially drawn to work that bridges tech, policy, equity, and lived experience — and I’m open to opportunities in nonprofits, philanthropy, local government, or mission-driven private sector spaces. 📍 Based in the Sacramento region | 💻 Open to remote work 💬 If you’re building something that puts people first — or know someone who is — I’d love to connect or collaborate. 🔁 Please feel free to share if this resonates with your work or network.

Last week I was one of approximately 2,400 CDC employees—and about 10,000 HHS employees—impacted by mass federal layoffs. It’s a sobering moment. My path to federal service was not what I originally envisioned. I earned my master’s in social work thinking I would go directly into nonprofit leadership - into the kind of work where you are close to the people and communities you are serving, where the impact is more personal and immediate. But when I was accepted into the Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program, new doors opened within the federal government, and I stepped into them with curiosity and commitment. Over the years, I have had the chance to do purpose-driven work on a national scale—bringing a social work lens to public health, policy, and communication. It has not always been easy, but it has been meaningful and I am proud of what I have accomplished. Now, like many others, I find myself at a crossroads. I am feeling a lot of things right now. I am grieving some for myself, but even more for so many others who have given their time, their talents, and in many cases, years or even decades of their lives in service to the public good. I am also a bit hopeful and open.  Open for a new chapter. Open to use skills that have not been fully tapped. Open to grow in new ways. While I do not love how this transition came about, I have to believe that something good is coming. For me and for others walking similar paths. I am looking for my next opportunity. I bring with me a unique blend of policy, social work, public health, communication, people skills (including a great sense of humor and positive energy—truly underrated leadership qualities), and so much more. I am looking for a place that will value all that I bring and where I can contribute to work that matters. Although I am coming from the federal government and once thought I would work for nonprofits, I am particularly interested in roles where I can see and feel the impact of my work—regardless of the sector—where outcomes are not just theoretical, but tangible and meaningful to real people and communities. I am based in St. Louis and open to in-person roles here, remote roles anywhere, or the right in-person opportunity in another location—if it is right for me and my family. If you know of any openings or would like to connect otherwise, I would love to chat.

Chief Information Officer at U.S. Census Bureau

After over 40 years of dedicated federal service, the time has come for me to embark on a new chapter: retirement on April 30th I started my journey fresh out of high school, joining the Navy and serving as a radioman, where I gained invaluable technical skills and a wealth of life experiences. After my time in the military, I transitioned to civil service, working with NAVTASC, and then spent nearly 24 years at NWS. In 2017, I was reassigned to the Census Bureau, where I had the honor of working with an incredible team in completing the historic 2020 Census. After the 2020 Census, I was reassigned as the Census Bureau CIO. Looking back, I am profoundly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had and the remarkable people I’ve had the privilege to work with along the way. As I move forward, I’m excited to explore new possibilities and continue to contribute in meaningful ways. I might be retiring, but I’m far from finished—there’s still plenty more I want to accomplish. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey. Here’s to the next adventure! #sevice #navy #nws #census
