Learning through creativity! Last week, our Dartmouth Health Career Institute (DHCI) Medical Assistant Trainees in Bedford, NH, crafted detailed diagrams of the heart and respiratory system to enhance their understanding of how these vital organs function. A round of applause 👏 to Lauren Barry on her recognition as an amazing internship preceptor and mentor! Lauren was nominated by her undergraduate intern Emily and selected as Penn State's Department of Health Policy and Administration (HPA) Preceptor of the Year for 2024. Lauren will be recognized this week at the HPA Awards Ceremony as part of the 27th Annual Stanley P. Mayers Endowed Lecture. "Your dedication to our students and program provides a unique opportunity to integrate the students’ classroom learning in a practical environment. Our preceptors are critical to the success of our internship program, and we know full well the time and effort involved in creating meaningful experiences for our students. Each year, students and alumni recognize our internship program as one of the most valuable experiences of their academic careers."

Being part of an academic medical center provides so many opportunities for learning AND teaching! Medical students are required to have training on sterile gowning and gloving before participating in surgical procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients. Our DHCI Surgical Technologist Trainees have undergone extensive training in this area and love having the opportunity to share their skills and teach future surgeons.

👏 Let's give a round of applause to our Surgical Technologist Trainee, Parker Spinney, for his outstanding work in sharing knowledge and inspiring future healthcare professionals! 👏
DHCI Surgical Technology Program | Plymouth State University Graduate | Business Applications in Healthcare | Medical Sales Program
Last week I had the opportunity to work with the Plymouth State University Medical Sales Program in their Orthopedic Devices class. Andrea Michaud , Andrew Courville and I were able to teach the class about the important relationship sales rep’s have with surgical technologist’s in the operating room. I believe that clinical work and conversing with professionals in one’s respective field contributes to a greater understanding of the potential jobs these students will pursue one day. It’s always a pleasure to represent the Dartmouth Health Center for Career Development and thank you Julie Bernier for facilitating this event! #psu #medicalsales #dartmouthhealth

Congratulations to JT on this well-deserved recognition! This is no surprise to those of us at the DHCI who have the pleasure of working with JT in the MA Apprenticeship space. Well done, JT. We, at the DH Center for Career Development, the MA trainees and apprentices, are so grateful for all you do and the joy and excellence you bring!
We’re proud to celebrate John (JT) Thibodeau Jr., BSN, RN, as the first recipient of The DAISY Nurse Leader Award at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital. JT’s leadership creates an environment where compassionate, skillful care thrives. One team member shared, “JT is a leader who truly listens and values every member of the team. He leads with kindness and respect, always making sure that we feel supported and heard.” The DAISY Nurse Leader Award recognizes nurse leaders who foster trust, professional growth, and a supportive work environment while advocating for their teams. JT’s dedication, empathy, and professionalism make a lasting impact on both staff and patients, and we are honored to recognize his contributions. Please join us in congratulating JT on this well-deserved achievement! Read more: https://lnkd.in/g9SNsWBi
