By working with communities across the U.S., we’ve learned three key lessons for building resilience against extreme weather events at the city level: ➡️ Every Community Faces Unique Hazards ➡️ Environmental Hazards Should Be Examined in the Context of Social Data ➡️ Compounding Hazards Pose Significant Challenges As the frequency and severity of extreme weather events increase, it’s critical for city leaders to have the tools needed to assess and address their communities’ unique vulnerabilities. Great conversations happening here in D.C. at USTelecom | The Broadband Association’s American #Connectivity Forum. AT&T EVP of Federal Regulatory Relations Rhonda Johnson joined connectivity leaders to discuss common sense paths to getting more Americans connected. Key takeaways: ➡️ Outdated regulations and outdated technology are holding us back. Regulations that require us to maintain legacy networks are dollars diverted from investing in next-generation technology. ➡️ The FCC’s approach on streamlining the tech transition will help get more Americans connected, but there’s more work to be done. We must continue to identify regulations that slow down our ability to modernize our communications infrastructure across the country. ➡️ Transitioning from copper networks to modern networks free up space and energy for emerging tech and AI. Last week we celebrated another milestone of connectivity in the Hoosier State with the completion of a fiber build in Delaware County, Indiana. This $2.5 million public-private project culminated in more than 1,300 new residential, business and farm locations getting access to high-speed internet. Working together with local governments, this collaboration is another example of how we’re helping to connect more Americans to high-speed internet access and more opportunity. “We’re so grateful to have been a part of this transformative project to deliver connectivity to rural areas of Delaware County,” said AT&T Indiana President Bill Soards. “Indiana communities large and small deserve this kind of fiber connectivity. The completion of this project marks an important milestone in helping close the digital divide in the community.” We’ve been working all across Indiana, teaming up with local entities to deliver more fiber to more Hoosiers. When football’s biggest night arrived in New Orleans, fans depended on AT&T’s network to share, stream, and stay connected like never before. Our years of preparation paid off, delivering a seamless digital experience inside and outside the Superdome. Our work didn’t stop at the stadium—throughout The Big Easy, we boosted coverage with enhanced 5G+ infrastructure, additional small cells, and mobile network assets to support the influx of visitors. And while the Big Game was a highlight of our recent work, our commitment to Louisiana communities extends far beyond one event. Have you heard of the “Hello Girls”? In 1918, the U.S. Army Signal Corps recruited 223 women from all over the U.S. to serve as telephone operators during WWI. AT&T and its Bell operating companies trained the women before the Army sent them to France. The “Hello Girls,” as they were known, connected 36,000 calls a day. By the end of the war, 26 million calls had been placed over the American System. On Wednesday, AT&T celebrated the “Hello Girls” at the Military Women's Memorial event for their recent recognition as recipients of the Congressional Gold Medal. We were joined by descendants of the “Hello Girls” as well as some of the group’s most ardent advocates in seeking recognition for the work of these brave women. The legacy of the “Hello Girls” is part of our rich history as a nearly 150-year-old American company and we’re proud to see these brave women honored for their extraordinary service. Great discussions happening all across #ConnectedAmerica 2025 last week. Several of our AT&T colleagues joined panels to discuss the future of all things connectivity: ➡️Meredith Williams spoke on a panel about broadband under the new administration where she covered the FCC’s plan to streamline regulatory processes and how that might affect key areas like wireline transformation and the Universal Service Fund. ➡️Thomas Monahan talked all things fiber, from why fiber is best suited to meet growing consumer demand to the future of converged connectivity. ➡️Adam Loddeke sat on a panel on the “mobile future”, where panelists discussed how to keep up with the increasing need for network capacity and all things O-RAN.

With a goal of being the industry’s best connectivity provider and ensuring that all Americans can connect to the internet, we’ve long advocated for policies that maximize private investment and remove roadblocks to getting Americans connected to the internet and keep America competitive. Commonsense changes by the Commerce Department that put Americans first by streamlining the program and making it more efficient will ensure BEAD brings the benefit of high-speed broadband, in the right mix of technologies, across the country and continues to keep America competitive.
