Your Solo Practice & Startup Need Message Mapping

Your Solo Practice & Startup Need Message Mapping

A solopreneur just 'found' me on LinkedIn under the guise of 'message mapping,' and that's not happenstance. For years, I've been writing on this topic, and it's something I never get tired explaining, facilitating, executing, and crystallizing.

Every business, especially solopreneurs and startups, needs message mapping or the semblance of message mapping to help fine tune the simplest, most understandable message that explains their business. You can't go it alone, Folks; trust me.

I've been a message mapping facilitator for years, and I've had the privilege of helping the largest corporations to the smallest startups find the hidden gems in their message. Some call it positioning, and that's a great description.

What Is Message Mapping?

I bet you've had an opportunity to do message mapping before, but you probably only got to sit in on the front end of the process, when everyone brainstorms in a mass free think. The outcome of that is a bunch of jargon and gobble that has to be repackaged into a messaging suite. That's where the fun begins...for me, anyway!

I help you by listening. I want to know your story; I want to hear you tell it to me. I help you do that with questions that prompt you to open your heart and share. When you relax enough and trust me enough (that I'm not going to judge), then the genuine heart story comes pouring out. It's the truth as you know it.

Everyone has a heart story, right? You came from somewhere, and you ended up here, so that's a story I'd like to know. After that, we talk about your business philosophy, what makes you tick, the products you have, and the places you want to go. I weave all of this into a tightly knit ball of yarn and add some simple soundbites to it so others understand, too.

In this era, less is more. Don't bombard me with your lingo or lengthy documents of gobble; tell me a story that I feel compelled by, in which you evoke an emotion, in which you make me laugh and cry in the same paragraph. Can you do that? You can, but sometimes it's challenging by yourself.

I want to help you find your heart string. Once we get 'into session' together, there's no telling what you'll say, what I'll ask you, what I hear, or what we share to the world, and that's why you need my message mapping service. It allows you to truly focus on yourself, for once, without judgment of selfishness. When was the last time you got to do that?

I want to thank my newest client, Curtis Hill, for finding me. He helped me realize that there are so many more small businesses like his that need my help perfecting positioning. I want to be that person for you because it's my time to help you grow into a bigger business that benefits our economy, our families, and our future. I've been in business a very long time, and I still have so much to learn and so much to offer. May we journey a bit together?
