For young Data Science enthusiasts

Now we are seeing a lot of bright young people taking interest in data science. I work with them all the time. I am sure they work very hard in training/re-training themselves irrespective of their backgrounds. However, at this point, data science is a huge area with ill-defined boundaries as well as the knowledge and applications are growing very fast.

In this situation, I often observed insufficient grasp of a few basic concepts and less-than-desirable understanding of their implications in practical works. So, sometime ago, when I was given a chance by IEEE CIS Chapter of Hyderabad to address a gathering of young data scientists, I used the opportunity to discuss a few of these basic concepts and their implications. I think my young friends in LinkedIn also may find them interesting. Here is the link to my talk Foundational Data Science.

Please feel free to drop a line or two of feedback/comments.
