For those of us in commercial transportation - drivers, safety managers, dispatchers, trainers, brokers, and consultants - we have a large responsibility on our shoulders to know and understand the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Our knowledge of these regulations and our ability to interpret and implement them determines whether we can keep wheels on the road and money in the bank. 

For better or worse, trucking is a highly regulated industry and while we CAN and SHOULD continue working as an industry to make sure regulations are fair and reflect the reality of best practices for safe driving, we also have to deal with the law as we currently find it.
