Why sleep should be part of your negotiation strategy
In a negotiation you want the emotional pendulum to stay in the middle as much as possible. If you’re too emotionally invested in the outcome you’ll be more likely to compromise and make concessions you regret later on.
Dr. Matthew Walker, is the director of the Center for Human Sleep Science at the University of California, Berkeley. He basically studies sleep for a living. Dr. Walker found that without proper sleep we have a hard time controlling our emotions. As he puts it “without sleep, we therefore have too much emotional accelerator pedal, and too little emotional brake.”
How many hours of sleep should you get? The Center for Disease Control recommends getting at least 7 hours of sleep for the average adult.
In short, the takeaway is simple, you should try to get at least 7 hours of sleep before your negotiations, especially the important ones.

3yGreat points Zapaer. I think sleep is secret to success in almost everything, including health (in broader sense).
