What are your Q4 goals?

The start of Q4 is just around the corner, and for Team Girlboss, that means taking a step back to see how we’re measuring up to reach our 2019 goals—and setting new ones for the quarter ahead, both as a team and as individuals. How does Team Girlboss set and track goals, you ask? (Or not, but I’m going to share anyway because I love drawing back the curtain to show you how we do things!) At the start of the year, we collectively decide on our company-wide goals: That means setting pie-in-the-sky (but not *totally* impossible) benchmarks for the business and breaking down, quarter-by-quarter, exactly how we can achieve them. We take a total 360 approach and make sure to cover everything from audience growth and revenue, to brand identity and dream collaborations.

Then, we focus on individual goals. Sure, we’re tracking our progress as a company each quarter. But we’re also setting some personal milestones we want to hit over the next three months. We each set three different types of goals for ourselves:

Tactical: This goal should be measurable, whether that’s hitting a certain number of listeners on your podcast or reaching a certain amount of revenue growth.

Personal Development: A skill or way of working that you want to improve on, that’ll help you crush it in all aspects of your job, like answering your emails more frequently or doing more presentations to practice public speaking.

Wild Card: This can be any goal that’ll help you and your team step up your game. Just make sure that it’s something you can make solid progress on over the next three months—instead of something like becoming a globally-recognized brand, think: grow our social media engagement among users in the UK.

After setting these goals, we break them down into manageable bite-sized pieces. What three things can you do that’ll help you reach each of these goals? Now assign some deadlines to them. Review them with a manager, peer, or even a friend to keep yourself accountable. The purpose of goal-setting is to figure out how everyone can make gradual, but meaningful changes that contribute to both the collective vision and the future you see for yourself. No goal is too lofty, too small, or too anything, really. It’s simply a way to stimulate growth. Let me know what goals you're setting this quarter—for yourself or your team—on the Girlboss community.

connect event and wedding planners from nyc to the hamptons into a group (of some kind) to symbiotically assist one another.  figure out a way to have new and existing client base recognize us in Manhattan, so we're not pigeonholed on the East End. record at least one episode of a podcast and publish it.
