What we know about container cranes

The container cranes have been upgraded continuously in the past 50 years, and nearly nothing new can be added to conventional container cranes. With the new requirements for container hoisting technology and material handling technology, other types of special container cranes like quayside container crane, rail type container gantry crane, wheel type container gantry crane, frontal crane, stacker, straddle carrier and AGV are added to modernized container freight terminals. The equipment in a container terminal has never stopped upgrading since they were invented, and you can see all of these machines in an automatic container port. Among the mentioned equipment, only the quayside container crane is used for loading and unloading containers from liner (a small number of rail container gantry cranes are used for loading and unloading container liner, which are not included in this discussion due to the small number and non-mainstream). There is so much equipment in the container yard, with sky high prices, the management of facilities is complex, and the mistake operation rate is high. Tyred container gantry cranes and rail gantry cranes are the main equipment in container yard. The front-handling mobile crane is used as auxiliary equipment in the container yard. Recently, the automatic wharf yard is a very popular project where rail container cranes are deployed.
