What I Can Do for You as a Digital Marketer

As the fall quarter is wrapping up and the year is coming to an end, I have learned so much on what it means to be a marketer with my classes, especially as a digital marketer. I am a t-shaped marketer with the big world of digital marketing and understanding these types of marketing the most due to my interest and personal beliefs on how valuable these aspects are. Let's go over what I learned and what interests me about these types of marketing!


Inbound and Content Marketing

Can I first of all say, wow! This was my best published article this entire quarter with over 1,000 impressions. This topic was close to me as I've done my fair share of inbound and content marketing with personal projects. This type of marketing has the most "heart" as it comes truly from you and gives your viewers a sense of attractiveness, engagement, and delightfulness.


Digital Activism and Non-Profit Marketing

Digital activism has been going on since my early childhood and is still going on today. Social marketing is such a powerful tool to change peoples' lives and impact good causes. A trend I see for both big and small non-profits trying to utilize social marketing is that it is pretty poor, in my opinion. This is because I do not see them using multiple aspects such as better SEO, paid advertising, and horrible UI UX design for their landing pages. With this, I can definitely see myself be eager to help and work for non-profits that would need my skills in digital marketing.


UI and UX Marketing and Design

UI and UX has touched me by admiring different websites and landing pages that have amazing design. A great example is Mikiya Kobayashi with its unique scrolling of landing pages as navigation. I want to say this is my strong suit as a T-shaped marketer, but it honestly isn't. It is such a vast concept that it makes me want to learn more. Tools like A/B testing play a part in improving designs. I am so fascinated by it that I will be taking a 6 month course on it through Coursera! More on that soon.


Programmatic Advertising

I thought I knew about how programmatic advertising works until I didn't. What is scary is looking at the lumascape with the different companies that play a part with inventory spaces and trade desks. The programmatic advertising universe is interesting on how each component plays a part.


Wrap Up

Digital marketing is so important as a marketer because of how fast the digital world is growing and being used. Things are transferring over to the online space and tools are evolving like generative AI. I will not only hold my valuable knowledge of digital marketing to every career and project I work at, but also be willing to be curious and learn more and expand as a t-shaped marketer.
