An Update to WordPress.com’s Interface
As many of you may have noticed, we launched a major update for user interfaces over the weekend!
This updated interface is part of a larger initiative to allow WordPress.com to be more closely aligned with WordPress itself. You have likely noticed significant changes in navigation and settings in recent months, and this interface update builds on that progress.
This marks the beginning of an ongoing procedure that would unfurl over the coming months where we work towards the goal of providing a more unified and coherent experience across all of our offerings.
Adapting to Change
For years, we have used Calypso, a wrapped interface for logged-in users on WordPress.com, to support a standard wp-admin WordPress interface. Although Calypso mostly worked for its time, it was tailor-made for more immature times for WordPress.com.
You may have noticed that we've been pouring a lot of work recently into improving your website hosting experience on WordPress.com-new developer tools and features aiming to boost site performance. There's never been a better time to host your site with us!
It is becoming ever more complicated, then, to try to maintain two completely distinct interfaces: Calypso and the standard wp-admin. This divergence signified double effort and unnecessarily complicated matters for our users.

By moving all our registered users on WordPress.com to the standard wp-admin interface, we wish to:
Give a Sense of Familiarity: Many of you will be using various WordPress products and this change ensures a cohesive and organic experience across all platforms.
Improve Support: You'll be able to fully utilize all resources offered due to this update. Utilizing external guides should also be a breeze now, along with obtaining very detailed documentation.
Provide for Future Innovations: That way, our team can spend more time and energy on new tools rather than spend time keeping a separate user interface.
We know change doesn't come quickly, but we believe that it is revista.
