Unpopular Levels of Invention

Apparently, life has taught some of us that Necessity is not the only channel of Invention. There is a much deeper root in creation where the cradle of invention sits and it is accessible to everyone, not just a few.

Invention shouldn’t be something just for the ‘general’ immediate needs of humanity, although that tends to be the most popular and notable in our world today, which is fine. However, we must recognize that there are other levels of invention that are accessible and important in delivering well-rounded individuals, which in turn would produce a well-rounded world.

We can access these ‘unpopular’ levels of innovation by simply paying attention to the details of our lives and activities. Once we do this, we would begin to notice that our ordinary actions or inactions birth tremendous new insights and discoveries for the benefit of our personal, local or immediate environment. Of course, this could also be accessible for global benefits where necessary.

Again, what is most important is that we look out for these instances when carrying out our daily activities. One has to first believe that one is a carrier of this deep-rooted cradle of invention. We have to be mindful of it and expect that these discoveries would show up as we experience problems that are either related to us directly or to others. We would need to take a moment or two to look within us and see if we are able to find our own solutions before jumping on to the next person, resource, or simply giving up. We could also stumble upon them while just carrying out easy tasks with no challenges or problems. They come when we make mistakes also. So, look out for them, record them when they do turn up and make the most out of them when it does become necessary.

The realization of our contributions to life is what gives us the true and most needed inspiration to prosper at our endeavors and find genuine fulfilment while doing so. National or organizational standards, policies, renumeration and the likes, although can somewhat sustain our possibilities of flourishing at our endeavors, cannot reach as deep as our individual creativity can reach in attaining fulfilment. It comes from within the individual, period! That’s when we achieve true self-actualization and can be somewhere happening or go somewhere to happen.
