Unleash The Power Of Cloud Computing - Let AWS Drives Startup

Yesterday as Coordinator of the IE Bug Data & AI Club, the event "Unleash The Power Of Cloud Computing - Let AWS Drives Your Startup." has been successfully hosted with the exciting talks giving by Account Manager Alumni Matias, Business Development Manager Jorge from AWS, and Jorge colleague Rocío.

The experience is truly amazing, as Matias shares with us from the history of AWS, the advantage of cloud computing, to 5 practical business examples. The cases range from how data analysis been used to predict when the F1 racing car needs to refuel to win the game to how voice assistants to help scientists in NAS to control rovers in Mars.

Challenging the audience's ability to utilize existing resources for creating a company with the paper plane game, Jorge and Rocío further extend students' horizons. With the introduction of the AWS Activate program, AWS Launchpad, and AWS Alexa Fund, the session ended with the fantastic award of 1,000 credits given to all participants so the IE students can get their hands dirty on their dream idea!

As also worked in the industry before as local storage's product manager at QNAP Systems, I have also asked Matias on what makes local storage unique at the trend of cloud computing. And we all agree that it is not data privacy, but the storage performance leads the specified business to continue to use the local datacenter. In this regard, the Cloud Storage Gateway that I was developing before leaving the company has its potential as well combing the speed of SSD and the capacity of Cloud!

The event truly showcases the innovation and entrepreneurship spirits of IE as well as a strong bond between alumni and the community. Besides AWS, with the lead of Big Data & AI Club at IE, surly more events and workshops await for the student to grow and let the idea be put into practice!
