Twitter and Freedom of speech (or lack of it)

I was surprised to receive an email from Twitter on March 24, informing me that my account was suspended. It said :

“Twitter

 Hello,

Your account, AngelAnichin has been suspended for violating the Twitter Rules.

Specifically, for:

Violating our rules against platform manipulation and spam.”

I must admit I rarely use Twitter, so I was curious how It was even possible I was in violation.

I logged in and saw a few re-tweets from March 22nd and March 23rd, which I did not post.

Obviously, my account was hacked. I did two things - changed my password and contacted Twitter support to explain I was not responsible for these posts and that my account was hacked.

I received confirmation with a case number and was told it would take 5-7 days to review and respond.

I tried to delete the posts but was not able since the account was suspended. I tried to enable 2 factor authentication, and this did not work either.

On March 30th I received another email saying:

"Your account was suspended due to violations of our Terms of Service. After reviewing for reinstatement your account will not be restored."

I again requested the account to be reinstated, explaining again that I did not post these tweets and that the account was hacked.

I was told I must wait another 5 to 7 days.

Today I received another email saying:

"Your account was suspended due to violations of our Terms of Service. After reviewing for reinstatement your account will not be restored."

I have a dilemma. Should I just forget about it - I was not really using it actively anyway.

Or should I try to fight it and get it reinstated? After all I did not do anything wrong - I did not post these tweets. My account was hacked, and Twitter could be responsible for not having good security. Web sites are hacked all the time.

What bothers me is that I am being penalized without being guilty and I cannot defend myself. It is like talking to the radio - it will not listen back.

What are our thoughts on this?

Same happened to me, exactly the same, my account got compromised (hacked) someone spammed some crypto related tweets and that's it, it's like that since 7 months, filed several appeals, nothing happened ever, just "Your account was suspended due to violations of our Terms of Service. After reviewing for reinstatement your account will not be restored.".

Sounds like you're out of luck. You have no rights in this situation as far as I understand. They can do what they want.

Hello Angel! Dare I ask, what were those tweets? Upload an image may be? And if you want my opinion - ditch it, if you haven't found it useful till now chances are you never will.
