Turning the Volume Up: Just a Bit
Reaching Carbon Neutrality in 2020

Turning the Volume Up: Just a Bit

We're a pretty quiet company. That's more of a fact than an opinion. We quietly rack up accolades and milestones without a lot of fanfare. And our thousands of employees around the globe just take it for granted. Generally the thinking is, "Yep, we're pretty awesome. Too bad no one's really heard of us." As the Head of Talent Acquisition for North America, I am used to a little more volume. To be honest, let's say a lot more volume. My past employers actively pursued and achieved awards, honors, and victories for the satisfaction and purpose of sharing with the world. On high volume.

A few really great things have happened lately cranking up that volume a few notches. While our sales increased by 30% over the last few years, we have reduced our carbon intensity by 60%. We are carbon neutral and will remain that way. We published a whole page about it at mt.com/sustainability.

While we rally around these "green" accomplishments with pride, there's more. Forbes, Newsweek, and Barron's honored Mettler-Toledo this past month with placements on their "best of" lists.

We sit in the #15 spot on Newsweek's list of "America's Most Responsible Companies 2021". This list represents corporations who care about being good citizens and giving back to the community.

Similarly, we earned the #20 spot on Barron's "100 Most Sustainable Companies" list. Companies on the list were judged on a series of environmental, social, and corporate governance metrics.

And, rounding out the awards for February 2021, Forbes named Mettler-Toledo one of "America's Best Large Companies" in 2021. This list celebrates companies who are attracting and retaining top talent while offering products and solutions to keep the country safe.

Throughout 2020, customers used our products to develop today's vaccines. Few outside of the company would notice, but our products were front and center in video and images in the media and news frequently throughout 2020. Both Pfizer and Moderna leveraged Mettler-Toledo instrumentation and solutions in their vaccine development. It's hard to stay quiet when these accomplishments pile up. Mettler-Toledo is an excellent company. Now more of the world knows it so let's keep the volume up at a nice audible roar from now on. There's a lot to be proud of and a lot of very fulfilled and happy employees who make the world a better place. Literally.

If you are seeking a stable, large, responsible, sustainable, global, inspiring company, Mettler-Toledo is precisely where you belong. #PreciselyMT. Find us at mt.com and careers.mt.com.

Awesome!! The MT "secret" needs to be unleashed!!!
