As an event planner, how can you create memorable and impactful experiences for our audiences? The key: start with your audience's needs and perspectives.

Recently, I had the privilege of meeting with Mike Gunawan from "LiveLife" who shared how to design effective, engaging, and creative events by putting the audience first.

Here are three learning points from our conversation that can elevate your event-planning prowess.

𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰e 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱'𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲:

Consider the question: If you could put yourself in the shoes of your customer's brand, what would they say? How would they perceive your event? A successful event not only aligns with the brand's identity but also reinforces its core values and messaging.

If you could put yourself in the shoes of your customer's brand, what would they say?

Think of the event as an extension of the brand's identity. Take the time to study the brand's ethos, products, and target market. By embracing the brand's POV, you not only strengthen the event's purpose but also foster a deeper connection between the brand and its audience.

Build 𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁:

A strategic concept is a blueprint for your event, guiding all aspects of its planning and execution. It outlines the event's goals, target audience, key messages, and desired outcomes. Base your strategic concept in research; conduct surveys, gather feedback, and more to inform your concept.

𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:

From captivating visuals and interactive activities to thought-provoking content and seamless logistics – each element of your event plays a pivotal role in captivating the audience's attention.

Visual scribes are the essential "campfire" around which everyone gathers to share their stories

Visual tools such as live scribing, engagement walls, and reflection templates create engagement, enhance retention, and turn your event into a memorable, tangible and meaningful experience. We like to think of the visual scribes as the essential "campfire" around which everyone gathers to share their stories, spin their yarns and create incredible connections.

If you want to revolutionize the way you create events and deliver experiences that are truly exceptional and unforgettable, start with the brand's POV, map your strategic concept, and craft engaging event elements.

Don't forget the visual tools to invite those essential community campfire conversations.
