Happy memories - on Dad's shoulders on the Reading Festival stage - taken from 1980 Programme

Thanks to BBC Radio 4, The Guardian and to you all

A huge thank you for the support and kind words from so many people over the last two months since losing my dad. I'm particularly grateful to John Fordham and Neil George for taking the time and the care to produce touching obituaries for The Guardian and BBC Radio 4 respectively since my last post.

Neil kindly invited me to Broadcasting House to be interviewed by Matthew Bannister for the Last Word on Radio 4. I was very touched by the end result - they did dad proud. It was broadcast 5th Nov, if you missed it and have a few minutes to spare I've shared a link here.

I was also hugely appreciative of the time and trouble John took to write the Guardian's excellent obituary (also recently published). It even included a picture of my dad that I have never seen before - what a gift.

So nice to see dad's legacy recognised....it reminds me that perhaps we should all, in our own ways, seek to leave a trail for others....
