Suit up for the Situation

Suit up for the Situation

(3 minute read)

You wake up in the morning, your feet touch the ground as you yawn, and you stretch your arms back. You take a couple steps out of bed and into the shower. You pop out of the shower and now - decision time: what are you going to wear? Well, a lot of questions come into play here. Let’s go through them…

What day of the week is it?

I think you can understand that depending on the day of the week, your attire is certainly going to change. For instance, if it’s Friday, there’s a high probability that you slip on some jeans and a nice casual shirt to go into work or wear today. If it’s Monday, you will most likely wear some nice slacks and a button day in order to set the standard around the office. So, maybe it’s a good idea to check your phone and see what day of the week it is when you wake up in the morning before you get dressed!

What do my daily activities look like for today?

Depending on what you have going on for a certain day, you're going to dress accordingly. If you have many errands to run and want to be comfortable running around town, you might slip on some khakis and loafers. On the other hand, if you have a big meeting lined up for the day, it may be in your best interest to grab your nicest suit out of your closet and drape that over your body as the outfit for the day. Don’t forget your lucky tie - that will come in handy.

What’s the weather like?

Weather is a big factor when deciding what to wear when you hop out of the shower. So, run over to your phone quickly and ask Siri what the weather is like for the day. Chilly? Don’t leave home without a nice jacket or peacoat to cover you up. Hot? You probably should stay away from the darker colors and lean towards wearing whites and pinks. Rainy? Don’t wear your favorite leather shoes unless you want them ruined!

What kind of mood do I want to be in?

Believe it or not, mood is greatly affected by what you wear on a daily basis. If you are the type of person to wake up and put sweatpants on and wear those all day, your activities will probably be associated with lounging around and being a little bit lazy. Instead, if you wear some nice clothes that make you feel good, you will be destined for a better day. I’ve always heard (and now always say) “look good, feel good”! Also, brighter colors should lead you to have a brighter day filled with more happiness - and that’s what we want!

Well, there you have it, here are my tips on what to wear depending on all kinds of situations! Comment with any feedback! I’d love to hear your opinion. If you enjoyed this post, don’t be afraid to like and share it! Have an amazing day.
