Structural Validation for Electric Vehicles using FEA methods
ProSIM has worked as FEA engineering consultants for structural evaluation of electric vehicles. Such projects are taken up as engineering outsourcing work. The projects are CAE services to direct vehicle manufacturers and OEM manufacturers. Objective of the projects include evaluation of structural integrity of vehicle and components for various operational and functional requirements as per the manufacturer. ProSIM also provided engineering design services for design modification and design optimization when required.
The CAE services provided for the electric vehicle segment include:
· Vehicle Chassis – FEA analysis for passenger load, road loading (humps and potholes), kerb strike, acceleration and breaking loading, grab handle and foot rest forces and modal analysis.
Battery compartment – weight loading, road loading (humps and potholes), acceleration and breaking loading
Front and rear suspension – steering forces, road loading, loading from scooter and passenger loads, deformation evaluation.
Gearbox – modal analysis, vibration analysis and design optimization, Gear teeth engagement studies for evaluating contact pressure and stress distribution
Transmission system - modal analysis, vibration analysis
For all cases, the CAE services are executed as per codal requirements such as ASME and ISO. FEA consultancy service at ProSIM includes design verification, code check, qualification and design optimization of equipment for different load case requirements. Structural analysis is carried out using Hypermesh for post processing and Ansys for analysis and post processing. For more you can visit www.pro-sim.com
