Strikes in France CANCELLED

Strikes in France CANCELLED

In positive news, overnight our colleagues in France confirmed that all upcoming strikes scheduled for June have been cancelled.

The French FNPD CGT union (representing ports and docks) has decided to suspend strike action until September. Apparently, the dissolution of the National Assembly decided by the French President on Sunday evening has reshuffled the cards, leaving the Union with no negotiating partners at government level.

This is terrific news for cargo operations at both Le Havre and Fos-sur-mer ports. While it may take some time to work through any backlog resulting from previous strike action, we anticipate cargo flows to normalize in the coming days and weeks.
