SH1FT Fitness Grows Gym Partnerships and International Development Arm
SH1FT Fitness, a rapidly expanding group fitness provider today announced that Libby Day will take on the role of Head of Business Development. In this position, Day will lead on SH1FT Fitness’ continued growth as a full service provider to clubs and facilities that are seeking high quality group fitness solutions at a cost that reflects the challenges faced by the industry as it rebuilds post pandemic.
SH1FT launched in 2017 with a single HIIT format and since then has grown their offering to five fitness genres (Cardio, Strength & Conditioning, Mobility and Stretch, Functional Step and Studio Cycling) positioning themselves to offer fitness facilities a full-service group fitness solution.
The addition of Day to the SH1FT Fitness team comes quickly after the announcement that SH1FT would be providing the signature group exercise programming for Everlast Gym, as well as partnering with Everyone Active to provide the programming for it’s digital offering, Everyone On Demand (EOD).
Libby brings considerable experience to the SH1FT team, having previously overseen group exercise at UK national fitness chains Fitness First and Virgin Active, as well as holding the position of Trainer Manager for Les Mills (IMEA).
SH1FT Founder Will Brereton said:
“We created SH1FT with the core focus on delivering the most cost effective, high quality solution for instructors. Now we have a full suite of fitness genres, we are excited to extend this same unbeatable value and commitment to gyms. Libby is the ideal person to spearhead our efforts in this area. She not only appreciates the challenges faced by operators large and small, she also intimately understands the needs of instructors, which are central to SH1FT’s philosophy and critical to any successful group exercise schedule. I can’t think of a better fit for us, and our partners.”
Day joins at a time of growth for the SH1FT Fitness team, who recently announced its new five person creative team, including Kate Slee (founder of Origin Series and former Les Mills international trainer), Rachel Sidney, Rhiannon Hacker and Sam Rider working under Brereton across SH1FT Fitness’ five formats.
Libby Day, Head of Business Development, said:
“I’m incredibly excited to join Will and the team at SH1FT. I’m so passionate about the fitness industry and SH1FT has created a solution that’s simple, smart and really meets the needs of clubs for high quality classes at a cost that’s impossible to beat.”
Earlier this month SH1FT Fitness shut down its direct to consumer on-demand platform, expressing the desire to fully commit to supporting its gym partners and instructors and directing it’s on-demand customers to instead seek out a local instructor or gym.
“2 years after the first lockdowns began, we have learned so much about the hybrid approach to fitness - and about who we are as a company. Our goal is clear - rather than competing with our partners for the same users, we want to harness our world leading classes and digital content to help our partner gyms and instructors achieve success and deliver fitness to their local communities.” - Will Brereton, SH1FT Founder.
