Seven Sharp "Heroes behind the Heroes" at Eden Park
I am delighted Seven Sharp filmed three short 60-second clips about the “Heroes behind the Heroes” in an attempt to highlight the planning involved with the delivery of the Eden Park event experience to the masses, using theatre to provide a more emotional connection with our patrons.
Eden Park is New Zealand's largest stadium, has a rich sporting history and its global profile is unmatched by any other stadium in the country. While Eden Park is most notably remembered for hosting the 2011 Rugby World Cup Final, it has been the home of Auckland Cricket, Auckland Rugby and international events since the early 1900s.
Each year, more than half a million sports and entertainment fans from around the world enjoy events at Eden Park. With state-of-the-art facilities and services, Eden Park successfully hosts sell-out crowds of approximately 50,000 on match days and delivers over 1,000 non-match day functions.
These self-authored clips provide an individual employee’s perspective of working at our iconic stadium. Filming took place prior to the Bledisloe Cup where the All Blacks achieved something no other tier-one nation rugby team has ever done before with their 18th successive test victory.
