March got off to a flying start with the Verticon show (formerly Heli-Expo) in Dallas, where we signed several major helicopter engine deals.
Innovation is also in the spotlight, with publication of the Top 100 Global Innovators list, identifying the companies leading the global invention trends, and the INPI and EPO rankings, further illustrating Safran’s power of innovation.

📣 Contract wins of the month for helicopter engines
We signed three key contracts in March:
We signed three key contracts in March:
✅ Safran has been selected by Airbus Helicopters to power its new H140. This 3-metric-ton class light twin-engine helicopter will be powered by the Arrius 2E, the most advanced model in the Arrius family, rated at 700 shp.
✅ Safran’s 950 shp Arriel 2W engine has been chosen to power the new R88 helicopter from Robinson Helicopter Company (RHC).
✅ Safran has signed a second support-by-the-hour contract with Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopter Tours for the engines powering its AS350 B4 fleet. This SBH® contract covers in-service support and MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) for 25 Arriel 2B1 engines.
[📣 Press release] Malaysia Aviation Group orders CFM LEAP engines for more Boeing 737 MAXs
Malaysia Aviation Group and CFM International have announced an order for 60 CFM LEAP-1B engines, plus additional spares, to power MAG’s new fleet of 30 Boeing 737 MAX planes.
🏆 Safran once again ranked among Top 100 Global Innovators!
Each year, Clarivate identifies the world’s 100 most innovative companies based on four criteria: the number of patents published and their quality, international reach and influence.
Safran has climbed to 42nd position in the ranking, gaining four places compared to last year.

🏆 Safran tops INPI and EPO patent rankings
✅ Safran is second in the list of patent applications filed with France’s National Industrial Property Institute (INPI) in 2024, with 1,216 applications, once again illustrating the innovative power of our Group and its people.
✅ Safran is in 33rd place in the global ranking of companies filing patents with the European Patent Office in 2024, with 547 applications registered. We’re now France’s leading filer of patents with the EPO, ahead of Valeo and CEA, the country’s atomic energy agency.
[📣 Press release] Ascendance chooses Safran to power its ATEA VTOL
Ascendance has selected ENGINeUS, the first EASA-certified electric motor, developed by Safran Electrical & Power, for the flying prototype of its ATEA hybrid-electric vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft.

Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. and Safran have signed an MoU to jointly pursue new opportunities as part of European defense industry cooperation efforts.
